Isn't Drukqs just one of the most fantastic albums ever

U2: The Unforgettable Fire

There was a documentary on the other night about the lad Bad was written about, brought this album to mind, one I've always liked. When they were good they were great, though those days are decades behind them.

Discharge – Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing

Some album  :abbath:

Cro-Mags – The Age Of Quarrel

An absolute belter.
One of my favourite albums.

This Mortal Coil: It'll End In Tears

Radiohead - Kid A and Amnesiac

I still can't quite get into Radiohead. I liked both these albums but didn't think they were anything special. Kid A in particular gets talked about in best album ever discussions, but it just doesn't land hard for me.

The only part of either album that genuinely blew me away was The Pyramid Song, which is fucking fantastic. Everything in it's Right Place was awesome too. Everything else, pretty good, but not amazing.

Still though, as has happened with many bands in the past, I suspect one day they'll click for me.

On a Sonic Youth binge, EVOL/Daydream Nation/Sister I've neglected Sonic Nurse so gonna lash it on next.

I much prefer The Smile worth checking out if you haven't already.

Familiar with them despite myself for years, Moon Shaped Pool was the first one that clicked with me immediately.

Yeah, so varied and sonically fresh after even 25 years. I can see why people didn't get it upon release. He was years ahead as usual.

Re :Kid A was the first release that Thom embraced his love aphex Twin and square pusher upon hearing Freeman Hardy & Willis Acid on a drive at night through Cornwall which profoundly affected him.

Funnily enough when I was listening to Kid A there were several moments where I thought it sounded kind of like cheap Aphex Twin. Like they were going for the sound, but had nowhere near the depth of knowledge about synths and programming that he does. They're great songwriters though so it still works of course.

Yeah, i agree with all of that.

Sonic Nurse is a banger, top five for me.

Kim Gordon and the Arthur Doyle Handcream is  :abbath:  :abbath:  :abbath:

Evol and Bad Moon Rising are my favourites by them, immense albums. Shadow Of A Doubt is one of my favourite songs.

Shadow of a Doubt is absolutely top notch.

Fuck it, was about to go to bed when my current NP (MBV - Loveless) finished, but I might lash on Evol before. And Sister, as that's great too.
