Working night shift with a 1 hour drive thrown in either side-

Sade - Love Deluxe
Sade - Diamond Life

Ahhh she's just lovely.

Suede - Antidepressants

Suede have released some great albums since they reformed. This one has a stronger post-punk influence and the songs will sound massive live. Mighty stuff.

As mentioned in the film thread: Electric Ladyland

I had a midweek afternoon off and I sat down to listen to it and got completely absorbed in it from start to finish. What a journey! I've always been an Axis guy mainly, but I think I might have switched. Followed it up with the album that it directly inspired: Bitches Brew. Sometimes you just need to be in the right zone and catch the right music at the right time and it was one of those days for me. Best 3hrs I've spent in a long time.

Viking Direct. Long gone now, I think they moved to Blanchardstown. The job was generally soft, just long and boring, but I had a few 'interesting' shifts alright. The best thing was having time to listen to music and read, I averaged a book a night.

My boss later went to Dubai on the run from CAB.

The Stone Roses: Second Coming

First time to spin this in at least 20 years, I wasn't expecting much as I was never pushed about it, but it's grand so far.

Nine Inch Nails - Tron OST. I'm really enjoying this. On my third listen already

It sounds like a soundtrack

I wouldn't be a fan of their other scores, although I love Ross' one for The Book Of Eli. Is this along the same lines as their previous ones?

The Daft Punk score for the last Tron film was immense.

I find the scores mostly boring as well but this one has a bit less plinkety plink spooky Minecraft music going on. In fact it doesn't have any of that at all. It does sound like NIN doing a score rather but I don't know if it's going to prove more popular than what Daft Punk did for the last one. The instrumental stuff on it is better than the vocal stuff

I'll get to it at some point.

Lankum: The Livelong Day

Porcupine Tree: In Absentia

The bass work on this album is fantastic.

Swans: Love Of Life

Had both In Absentia and The Livelong Day on in the last week. Love both of them.

Couldn't get into the last Lankum album at all though, felt it was lacking something but I'm not quite sure what

Think I'll throw on The Sky Moves Sideways now you've put Porcupine Tree in my head
