Cracked this out for a few hikes last couple of weeks too.  Savage savage album, just gets better as the years go on too.

Dunno lads. I feel it's one I should like because it's so fucking warped. Sounds like a tape that's been left on the dashboard of the car at the height of summer. Maybe not the height of an Irish summer but you know what I mean. I enjoy it for a song or two and then get melted by it.

They deserve a revisit but any other time I've tried MBV my interest fizzles out fairly quickly. Sweeping generalisation but shoegaze is not something that generally interests me.

After watching the first episode months ago and with a revision of the latter half of that, I've progressed to the second episode of the Ken Burns Jazz doc series. Amazing stuff as usual.

Loveless is a lifelong favourite and all but these creepy little gems from "Isn't Anything" are my favourite MBV songs (along with Soon obviously which is a masterpiece)

It's one of those that you've got to be in the mood for it, when it clicks it's mighty. Still can't get into mbv but their other stuff is superb.

It's kind of the same for me, I never get through it all in one go. First few tracks come in and I'm absolutely loving it, but by the time I've listened to four or five tracks I've had enough. I could listen to any four or five from anywhere in the album and feel that way and then switch it off  It's one of the only albums I can think of that I would consider amazing, but would never listen to the whole way through. The Downward Spiral is a bit like that as well.

Could spin Loveless all day, The Downward Spiral not so much.

I put that on the other day after The Lion And The Cobra but it's a different vibe or something although the vocals would send shivers down the spine on either be fair to her

Yeah honestly if she was singing the telephone book I'd still tune in.

Same, def wouldn't want to miss that episode of World's Weirdest Séances.

Edit: wrong thread

Been checking out Stars of the Lid for the first time today, on a recommendation. Ambient drone wouldn't be a genre I know particularly well, but this has been absolutely great to work to today. Maybe that's in part because what it reminds me of most is the kind of music you get behind guided meditation audios
