I've been throwing a few books up on Vinted to clear some shelf space and browsing through it, there's a few interesting bits there among all the shite. Saw a couple of Ride The Lightning records ye collectors might be interested in: a picture disc and a French reissue with the green cover.

Of course I came out of it without links but search Metallica and they'll be there.

Really underestimated how popular Deftones are here in Ireland now. The last time I seen them was in Vicar street roughly around 10 years ago. Now playing big outdoor shows. Have they been appealing to the Tik Tok generation of late?

Certainly a factor, but I'd posit that it might be partially down to them being round long enough that a lot of kids have grown up with them. My daughter and her mam went the other night, and she was definitely subjected to a lot of Deftones as a kid amongst heavier music generally. There's a whole generation of kids in their 20s (and younger no doubt) now who grew up with parents who liked metal and I think people overlook that.

She also has Fear Factory, Korn and Eyehategod on the gig list for the rest of this year, definitely all bands she got into from hearing them as a kid.

I'd agree with that, my two have been exposed to some interesting music while coming up.

They've gotten into Deftones, Slipknot, Korn and SOAD, with Deftones being the only one I'd listen to. But then Killing Joke, Iron Maiden, Soundgarden has grabbed their attention as well. My son has recently been borrowing more and more Death which is fantastic.

I say all that but my daughter can easily go from the madness of Kpop, Soad to The Beatles in a heart beat.

I mentioned this in another thread I think, but hilriously the one band my daughter (who's 22 , for context) mentioned discovering via Tiktok is Mortician of all things! She hasn't particuarly got into the Metal of Death otherwise..which is actually a relief of sorts haha

Girl working in Golden Discs Cork was wearing her brand new bought-at-the-gig Deftones hoody yesterday, no more than late 20s. Told me she'd seen them in February too.
