This guy sounds like what Steve Vai would give birth too after being cream-pied by each guitarist from Exodus

Didn't think much of his solo, but the thumbs up/faraway look thing definitely projects him up the list of instagram guitarists.

Has anyone ordered from Asrar records? They've some interesting reissues but just seen their Ildjarn release will be their 400th(!!!) release since starting in 2019. I'm wondering what the quality of their reissues are if they're pumping them out at that rate? And how is that even possible? Bit of a heavy metal rumour mill about the guy behind it and how he finances all these releases and if his releases are actually official. Seems like a bit of a shitshow. I don't really care about that I just finally want a decent copy of the Zyklon B EP and it to turn up in one piece!

That Zyklon B record was only bootlegged earlier this year by another crowd. 400 releases in six years is insane. It would certainly make you wonder at the quality. He's "reissuing" the Sigrblot album and causing hullabaloo on ROD over that.

I tried to order that boot from total war but sold out before I got in  :eyeroll:

Yeah I've seen that Sigrblot drama, seems like everyone connected to the band has said it's not official whatsoever but the guy has doubled down. I had a friend of a friend just have a box of stuff come in from Asrar be detained for destruction with a list of the contents in the box from customs. He reckons it's because the dude is putting the website on the outside of the box and they've got them on some sort of watch list. Maybe it's not worth the hassle/circus.

Oh shit  I have the Invictus LP and WTC CD (which might also be a boot according to that ROD thread) so I'm happy enough. I would have ordered a tshirt from Asrar but the colour is ugly as shit. Diarrhoea to be precise.

Still quite suprised how long Fatty arsebuckle has stayed in the band. He must have something ridiculous on Nikki & Tommy.

Is the whistling wind sample in Mastodons Elephant Man the same as the one used for Call If Ktulu? Not exactly an important issue but to me they sound identical.

The Crown has just announced they're finishing up next year. Is there any band that has announced a farewell tour and actually stayed split up?

Sentenced, though I thibk even if Tenkula hadn't died, they still wouldn't have reformed. Since the split, they've kept very quiet, I think there was a book, and a box set released, and that's it. Even the website died a couple of years ago.

As for The Crown, must have run out of songs again, that was the reason for the first farewell.

While on the subject, there was (or is about to be) a bunch of Sentenced reissues lately, I can't remember whether is was on Hammerheart or Cosmic Key.
