So have you any weird/strange or relatively unknown facts about Metal albums/Artists/Songs/Lyrics if so share the knowledge ! 

ill get it started:

Bathory-> There was a bit of beef between Quorthon and Onslaught regarding album titles. So onslaught accused Quorthon for ripping off their album title "Blood on ice"

In Quorthon's own words from an interview in Aug 1989:

"we used to be on the same record company, unless now they are too big - ha ha!! They didn't sell records, we did. The record company said, here we have 2 bands, one from Sweden that sells records and another band from England that don't sell records and they want to call their album "Blood Upon The Ice" or something like that, what do we do? Onslaught wanted us to change the title, but with the support from the record company we didn't have to do that. Both of us wanted to do a double album, but we didn't and they changed label so.... Now they are giving us and the record company a lot of shit"

So Onslaught ended up calling their album "In search of Sanity" and just called one of the tracks on the album "Blood upon the Ice" 

Another Bathory Fun fact which a few people may already know is the Album cover for Under the sign of the Black Mark is an actual photograph taken in the Royal Opera in Stockholm, he used a then top class body builder with a cut out of the goat from the self titled album as a mask.

Sticking with Onslaught, there's a song on In Search of Sanity called Lightning War with a chorus refrain of

"Die Die Die
By our Blitzkreig
Die Die Die
It's a lightning war"

Shortly after the album was released one of the recording engineers, Richard Barraclough, was actually struck by lightning and died.

Before joining Megadeth, Nick Menza landed the Slayer gig for a week before they went back Lombardo.

Menza also secured the gig in Overkill but shot himself in the foot by talking too much about money before he got in and they went for Sid Falck instead.

Just as well, Tim Mallare was still only on a wage after ten years in Overkill. He was never made a full band member. Menza wouldn't have been a happy bunny there.

Bobby Gustafson is on record saying that the agreement was that Falck became a full member but the other 2 reneged and kept him on salary for an extra album beyond what was agreed. Similar story to Jeff Young if his Megadeth woes are to be believed.
