I know it was a thing before that the strange one in the family would be sent off to join the Church or the GardaĆ, but is that still a thing?

There's good and bad in every organization but there's some real sinister individuals still coming to light in the GardaĆ like sexual assaults etc that would make you think it's still a thing for the black sheep of society to hide out in.

Fucking hell.

I know two people that are ex guards. One male and one female both said the corruption is off the charts. The female left due to how bad things are. From what they have told me there is a lot of truth to the 'The Guards are the biggest gang in the country' phrase you often hear people saying.

I also know someone who was a guard but got promoted to CAB and he has told me some crazy shit which I don't want to mention on here. None of the stuff is to do with sexual assault but more so to do with drugs, bribes and those types of things. With the new recruiting methods that have come to light recently I would expect things are going to get a lot worse.

100% - worse in every facet  :-\

I know two Guards very well myself, childhood friends type thing, I have nothing to do with them now.
Neither of these lads possess even a hint of a moral or ethical compass, both of them were trouble makers and fight starters every night we went out for a few, one of them would take the eye out of your head and come back for the other if ya weren't looking, neither of them was capable of holding down an honest job or doing an honest days work.
Walking around now with the chests out and butter wouldn't melt heads on them.
I wouldn't trust either of them as far as I'd throw them.

I happen to know that the situation is far worse than just bribery and corruption.
There is a criminal organisation working within the ranks itself, involved in drug and human trafficking.

And for the record again - Aaron Brady did not shoot Adrian Donohue at Lordship credit union.

Why are guards getting smaller, its fuckin ridiculous with some of them, hard cases would just laugh at them

Only 15 years each for this ??? This was the worst of the worst, a cowardly attack on a completed gentleman in his own home by thugs with a litany of previous convictions.

Fucked up country we live in.

Fucking 57 previous convictions, at the age of 31. It's insanity he was still out on the streets

How were these fuckers allowed to plead manslaughter?
they scoped out the house, targeted the occupant, entered the property unlawfully and beat him "brutally".
That's premeditated murder in my book.
fuck the DPP, fuck the state solicitors and fuck the judiciary.

Yeah beggars belief. If a way can be found to do a lesser sentence it'll be found.

Marvellous

This is what's being let out onto the streets. We must have some of the softest sentencing in Europe, and the amount of time served. This cunt literally battered that poor lad to a pulp - he was unrecognisable. There's no rehabilitation here.

Ya, these cunts shouldn't see the light of day again.

Then add to that had he been able to defend himself and survived he would be up on assault charges now.

One of the co-accused:

"The court heard that Edward Byrne, who had 55 previous convictions, was both on bail and on temporary release from prison at the time."

Un-fuckin-believable. 55 convictions at 21 years old and was party to the murder by assault of a man going to work "for the buzz", are we ever as a country going to get serious about these waste of oxygen cunts

I think that case stuck with me. A polish lad in his 20s simply showing up for his shift in work. Here to make a better life for himself. I remember his workplace described him as the Model employee.

His life taken away by three pieces of filth that never or will ever contribute anything to society

Fucking scum. Did it for a buzz. What the fuck is wrong with some people.
