I'd actually agree with that. A year of military service for every 18 year old would be an opportunity to right a lot of the personality wrongs of the first generations reared by their phones.

It's still a better idea than giving them the 20 minutes in criminal college in limerick or mountjoy that their usual 300 convictions gets them all the same

Speaking of which another awful case there in Kildare where the young man was followed after words were had on a bus and assaulted and killed. The scrote that did it photographed laughing leaving court. He got the standard 5 years with 25% off for "good behaviour"

Ex Leinster Rugby too so like the GAA that must mean he's an upstanding citizen of some kind.

I listened to the victims dad on liveline today - harrowing. No justice for them, as they said their sentence begins now.

The Dublin Rape Crisis Centre has been concerned for some time at the increasing use of hidden cameras, spy glasses, pen cameras and other covert recording devices to secretly film women and girls without their knowledge or consent, says the organisation's chief executive Rachel Morrow.

Recordings such as those made by Murphy are "often minimised as harmless", but this type of "harassment" was "part of a path to future crime", she says.

"Victims may never discover that recordings of them have been captured, shared or repeatedly viewed by strangers ... The number of known cases is likely to represent only a fraction of the true extent of the problem."

One of the young plaintiffs said she found out about the imagery after she received an anonymous message on Instagram pointing her toward images and videos, including her high school yearbook photo, which had been altered to show her in sexually explicit actions and full nudity.

The material was being shared on a Discord server, a private chat space on that platform, and included similar imagery that had also been altered using Grok of at least 18 other women who were minors, according to the complaint.
