As I seem to mostly pick up reissues these days, let's have a thread for good old stuff that's getting the reissue treatment. Maybe we can also discuss the merits/demerits of particular reissues. Bootlegs are welcome too, ov corpse.

I have the Satyricon 'Dark Medieval Times' LP bootleg on the way to me which I'm very excited about as its an album I've grown to love in the past couple of years. Easily their finest moment and an absolute pinnacle of Norwegian black metal to my ears. It will be nice to have that shit artwork on vinyl too 

I saw today that Soulseller are reissuing the In the Woods 'Isle of Men' demo on all formats so that's going to be picked up post haste.

The NWN reissues of 'Drawing Down the Moon' are receiving rave reviews. I already have the Primitive Reaction reissue but I'm half tempted... we'll see.

Any other interesting reissues coming up or available that we should be looking out for?

Picked up Satyricon too..sounds amazing and selling for dumb prices on Discogs already.

Sortilege 'Larmes De Heros' was reissued for the first time since 1996 so was nice to get that for a reasonable price.

Rumours are Tony Martin era sabbath will finally get a reissue this year..got an OP of Headless Cross recently and solid boots of Tyr and Cross Purposes so that itch has been scratched a bit anyway.

Also picked up one of the Nile reissues from relapse even though they have the typically dumb colour variants.

I saw that Sortilege alright. The name is familiar but I haven't listened to them. I'll have to check them out. Might grab one or two of those Black Sabbaths as well 

I have the original green vinyl version of In Their Darkened Shrines. In fact, it was my first vinyl purchase along with Remission 20 years ago or so (a handful of free punk 7"s I collected for free at gigs in the 90s not withstanding). I would be half tempted by picking up Black Seeds of Vengeance on vinyl if I saw it for a non-exorbitant price which is highly unlikely in Australia.

I quite like the reissues Soul seller are doing,they've done a fine job on the In the woods pressings on LP so far.Im sure the Isle of Men wont disappoint either.

Just out of interest, why did you go for the boot of Dark Medieval Times rather than the 2LP reissue?

Looking forward to the Hades album LP reissues on NWN. Again Shall Be and The Dying Sun...can't think of its proper title.

Only have Tyr on LP from Tony Martin Era Sabs, so looking forward to seeing what the upcoming re-issues are like.
I've been tempted by some of the recent boots of them, though.

Got a ping today too, that Naturacht will finally be re-issuing stuff from Havukruunu.

The bootleg of DMT is a copy of the original version with the old artwork and, I think, the original master. The recent reissue has new artwork (I have the CD and it looks great in fairness) and I think it was remastered. I thought if I was to get it on vinyl I would prefer the old artwork than the new.

Makes sense - that original artwork is indeed savage. Amateurish but mysterious, which is what made most of that scene so great.

Re the topic of mainly buying reissues these days, I'm with you there. Such a deluge of class stuff coming out that I never know what to spend my money on so half the time end up buying something I've been wanting on LP for years.

I bought the Satyricon box set and the only bad thing about it is the new artwork. The Shadowthrone remaster sounds better than the original. It is the same version as the songs that are on the 10 horns comp. I bought the boot as well just for the original art because it always reminds me of the Dor-nu-Fauglith artwork.

I got those recent Burzum boots as well which are good. No way will I have any back on black vinyl in my collection. The sheer amount of bootlegs coming out lately is crazy as well as the fact that almost everyone doesn't seem to have issues with them. I also got those two Judas Iscariot boots that were released last year which are pretty decent.

Looking forward to the Kaosritual reissue / box that is suppose to be out at the end of the summer. It would be great if they are selling them at the Mare show in London in September. The Moonblood rehearsal vinyl reissues have been great as well the band and IBP did a really good job on them. Most of the Necrophagia material will also be reissued this year.

Macabre - Sinister Slaughter is also being reissued at some stage this year along with most of Meshuggahs back catalogue with the original art.

Those Burzum boots are tempting.

NWN! are doing Hades- Again Shall Be and The Dawn of the Dying Sun on vinyl in March. I think I'll have to grab one of each.

No way will I have any back on black vinyl in my collection.

Can I ask why this is? Having recently simultaneously bought Filosofem as a back on black and Storm of the Light's Bane as a boot, nothing immediately struck me as off about the former. Are bands getting shafted on them? I know only that Bolt Thrower were not cool about their stuff being reissued.

Digital masters, is what I heard. But then again, I would imagine that a majority of new releases are also cut from digital masters, unless the recording itself was pointedly analog, no?

It doesn't impact overall listening too much, but my boot of Storm does have volume dips in a couple of places yet was twice the price of the Filosofem back on black which has no noticeable audio flaws anywhere. Proof in the pudding, etc.
