I'm not a vinyl fetishist by any means, just something I recalled being mentioned in one of the previous vinyl vs digital squabbles in the past.

BOB fucked up a lot of the earlier Burzum reissues.

BOB vinyl is sourced from CD (although I think most vinyl releases these days are especially post 2010 stuff) conveyor belt releases with everything being the same no attention to detail, seems to be random vinyl colours picked for releases and they also have a habit of using artwork blow up from CDs so it is pixelated and blurry. Similar to Peaceville the BOB releases always seem to be on the more expensive end of things.

Currently I only own 2 BOB releases the two Superjoint Ritual full length's. These are being reissued by another label so as soon as I get mine I will be getting rid of the BOB versions.

Okay, thanks for the info. I'll definitely keep all that in mind for any future potential BoB purchases and see if I can find reviews first. As I said though, I've no issues with the Filosofem release; black vinyl, both discs fit perfectly into the gatefold, no issues with sound (though, y'know, it's Burzum anyway). Now that you mention it, however, not impossible the artwork is a magnification. I'd have to double check that.

All potential issues with boots too though, no? But then I'd always check for reviews, formal or informal, of a boot before buying.

Enslaved are reissuing Hordanes Land for Record Store Day, America only I think (though a European version will surely follow at some point):

With the Yggdrasil demo and this getting recent reissues, I have my fingers crossed for a CD reissue of Vikingligr Veldi, it's the only one I'm missing.

I could do with all of those Enslaved reissues.

I have the Goatlord vinyl reissue put out by Peaceville a few years ago on the way. The one with the hand drawn artwork and which has the vocals included. It's a great album.

The sunn/boris collaboration altar is being reissued on vinyl for the uk rsd.

Thorr's Hammer - Dommedagsnatt got reissued lately. Will have to pick that up?

An excellent collaboration that one.

Bolt Thrower - Live War is getting a reissue through Earache soon enough. It's the only one of theirs I don't have. I have lot of the Earache Bolt Thrower and Morbid Angel FDR reissues and they sound great do high hopes for this one.

Is it vinyl only? The only one I don't have but I'd go for a CD myself.

I've only seen the vinyl getting a repress. Don't think they are doing a CD.

Seems to be the way of things these days. I know it was released on CD as a bonus disc with ...For Victory at one point, but that's pricey enough secondhand now. It'd be nice if they reissued the original version of Realm Of Chaos too, I never picked that up and the reissue they did put out isn't the best.

Oddly Realms of Chaos I'd the only LP reissue of theirs that gives me any shit. The rest of those FDR releases I'd recommend to anyone. I think that's a factory problem with the wax itself though. Live War is available for paid download on the Earache site if that floats your boat.

Aside from the wrong cover art and the thinner sound, the main thing that bugs me about the ROC reissue is the four count at the start of Eternal War. It isn't there on the original and just sticks out.

The recent Burzum and Satyricon boots are very well done. These releases are much better than the boots that were done about 10 years ago because the recent ones are all being done on the side by normal labels that we all buy from.
