Picked up Disco Elysium. Bloody hell - there's some worldcrafting gone into this. Best point/click RPG adventure in terms of storytelling I've seen in a while.

Playing assassin's creed odyssey atm. It's a belter with gorgeous graphics.

Get the gold version. The DLC add ons are top notch.

Okay brilliant 👍

Playing Mass Effect: Andromeda for whet the appetite for the Mass Effect trilogy remaster out at the moment. Andromeda got a very hard time when it came out which more or less mothballed the franchise (and seemingly killed the chance of an Andromeda sequel) but so far it's a fantastic game. People get so insanely angry about games it's unreal. Top notch space-colonisation, story based rpg, with engaging action gameplay.

In any case, I highly recommend playing the original Mass Effect trilogy if you haven't and the remaster is the perfect place to jump in. All three games and all dlcs included.

Just restarted playing Call of duty WW2, unreal game

I played Andromeda about six months after if originally came out (so most of the bugs were squashed by then) and I enjoyed it enough to finish it. It didn't have the magic of the original trilogy in terms of story and characters (as that was real lightning in a bottle stuff), but it played well and was enjoyable as a game.

Finished the remaster of the first game today on PS5 - this was actually my first time playing it properly (as I started with the second game because that was the first one on PS3). It sets the world, characters up brilliantly and the powers are there, but it's all formative. ME2 blows it away. Just hit Omega and that's gotta be one of the coolest stages in a videogame  8)

Agreed, Mass Effect 2 is probably the highlight of the series for me and arguably one of the best RPGs around. They have teased a new Mass Effect game in the works, something that follows on from the trilogy, very excited for that.

Yeah ME2 is one of those games where everything just came together perfectly. Even though I blew through ME1 (despite it being my first time playing it properly), skipped bits of dialogue, etc., I'm taking ME2 nice and slowly and soaking in every ounce of it.

I'm cautiously optimistic about a new game - they're a very different studio to the one that made ME2, but I think they've realised their fuck ups at this stage

I regularly forget that they made Anthem, an abortion of a concept if ever there was one. Similar to how Fallout 76 wiped out huge amounts of goodwill towards Bethesda. Looking at the development teasers of the Dragon Age, which seems to be further along than ME4 (?), they do seem to be saying all the right kinds of things. You'd think the likes of Anthem would have stung alright.

On the original trilogy, I love how after all the hours you put into your story (assuming you carry the same Shepherd through all three games) it's actually possible to lose the game. Finish it, sure, but with a crushing defeat for humanity. This takes important decision-making to a level I've not experienced in any other game, where defeat or an important NPC's death is simply a 'let's try that again' moment.

I've been playing the old Sonic games and managed to get the golden sonic for the first time the other day, an achievement which has eluded me since boyhood. He is hard to control and not as much fun as he looks. Oh well

Blizzard were doing a live stream of what sort of gameplay to expect in Overwatch 2 along with a couple of nice new maps. But for some reason, they have decided to fuck over tank mains by changing it to 5v5.

Currently playing Dragon Age Inquisition. I was initially put off by the outdated graphics but it's a very enjoyable play.

anyone here into hoi4 or stellaris?
