Finding old compilation CDs I put together from free CDs from Terrorizer and the like. One I did 16 years ago still sounds decent, despite there being a few bands on it that I'm not a fan of.

Happy fucking days!
I had a shoe box of compilation tapes I made, recording stuff off the metal show on RTE radio 2 years ago, and I'm fucked if I can find them anywhere.
I'm sickened about it, I've a bad feeling the mother might have binned them :(
Jesus but I knocked some enjoyment out of making them tapes, used to be on tinder hooks all week listening to me tapes, waiting for Sunday and the metal show to be on again. Simple times, ya wouldn't catch young lads at the likes these days, too much bother for them.

Where the hell is John Kenny now by the way, is he on the wireless at all any more?

Some memories and c90's from the metal show. Nothing like the buzz of waiting to record that on the sunday night and then going into the school in the morning with the tape in the pocket in case some of the pals missed it or we'd end up in someone's house after and on would go the tape

I had shitloads of tapes too, I used to trade them with a mate in Dublin for copies of stuff he'd picked up in the States. Mostly shite coming from him but I enjoyed putting the tapes together. I had notebooks full of tracklists, track times etc., still come across one occasionally.

More innocent times for sure.

I was going through old stuff and I found a C90 that I made for my wife back in the day. Toe curling stuff there, trying to get her to like the metal.  :-[

i think about this exact comic strip almost weekly

Turning the TV off, playing death metal records and giving drawing a go, graysons art club inspired me, this is one of my greatest pleasures at the moment

Sipping a nice West Cork Single Malt whiskey whilst watching Adrian Dunbar's Coastal Ireland.
Perfect Sunday evening....

Middle age,  I welcome you.

If I had known it was this pleasurable, I wouldn't have fought it off for so long...

Finishing a 16k run at a canter this morning and feeling fuckin' invincible for a good hour after, just like after a big fat, selfish line of the Bonnie Prince Charlie. Haven't moved in 8 hours except to have a piss and scratch my arse a couple of times, and now for a guilt free take-away :)

16k is awesome. Never got past 10k as I'd need to lose a few pounds before putting more pressure on my joints.

If you're at 10,  and you have time to run 4 times a week, you could easily double that total in 6-8 weeks. Try 5-8-5 (Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday)and then 12 on Sunday next week, guarantee you'll finish it as easy as 10.

You can add 1.5k to the long run each week and it doesn't hurt as much as you'd think.

You can continue consuming as you wish, although alcohol will kill any weight loss and momentum!
