I figured it would have just been hot there all year round...

Not in Melbourne. Hot in summer, but even then we get rain and cold days mixed in. Winter is chilly. You can still get warm days here and there and it's certainly not as hard as an Irish winter, but there are proper seasons.

Being alone in a crowd. I'm in my local but I'm surrounded by strangers, I'm in a woeful mood so it suits me perfectly. Can't bayt it.

Similarly a gloomy day when you're in a shite mood. Though that might be an Edmonton thing for me now. It's sunny here most days so a gloomy day is more unusual. 10yrs out I've forgotten what it's like to live with the gloom 24/7. I even miss the constant rain now!

Just back from paternity leave but the simple pleasure isn't about the new baby. It's being able to listen to metal again after a few music-deprived weeks.

Nice. I took the opposite approach to metal when our kid arrived. A daily metal routine for all,  or in other words, zero concession  The first music my son heard when we brought him home from the hospital was Reverend Bizarre. No finer start for a young pup  8)

That's the right approach.  :abbath:  I should have done that with my 3 year old. I'm afraid he's a lost cause - one morning he was grabbing random CD's off the shelf and asked me to play Shadows of Old Ghosts by Graveyard Dirt. He said it was too loud.  :eyeroll:

  ah well, he'll come around. My young lad's favourite band is Sabbat (Japan) only because he recognises my Sabbat tshirts. Funnily he has taken to singing his own version of a couple of Tony Martin-era Black Sabbath songs! And he also 'likes' Motörhead. That is to say, he likes the tshirts. I'll enjoy it now because no doubt when he's a teenager he'll think it's all old man music and be listening to K-Pop or something equally awful.

Anybody else try these? Heading to Dublin myself tomorrow for Blood Incantation, looking for a good feed beforehand.

Never had that but Ishkander on Dame St was my go-to for kebab bank in the day.

Ishkander is now Reyna which is great. Same heads that own Chiya which is also great and a good bit cheaper. 9.90 for the kebab. That's unfortunately good value.
