Having a three day weekend after having to work two six day weeks in a row.

Here's one I had this evening. Was in the shop and the stuff I bought came to about 52 quid so I couldn't tap the card but I had the wife's card and I couldn't remember the pin. So the lad says grand hang on, voided off a beer from the shopping and threw it into the bag. Now tap away he says. Sound out and I don't know him or anything.

So the simple pleasure was him not being a pure jobsworth about it and simply helping a lad going about his day

To see yeah but not to any extent.

Chips with soy sauce.

I haven't had this experience since leaving Ireland because the Chinese restaurants here don't serve chips (dumbasses). I picked up some chips to go with dinner and had the little flashback to eating cold leftover Chinese with a heap of soy sauce lashed on top and had to relive the experience. As good, maybe even better, than I remembered  8)

Yup that's a good one, would prefer the Soy over vinegar on chips.  Sometimes a bit of Worcestershire sauce.  Made up a few chips the other night and put a load of parmesan and hot sauce through them, unreal too.  Topped chips in general are a pleasure, poor on their own but a great vessel for savagery.

Sure while we're on the topic of Worcestershire sauce and simple pleasures, it's amazing the way the former can elevate a bog standard cheese toastie to another level.

It's amazing.  I couldn't eat a cheese toastie without it now.

Same where I am. Fuck me I miss the UK/Ireland style greasy Chinese. Also can't get a chippy sausage anywhere. Always put on about a stone when I come home to visit because Chinese takeaway and chippy is all I eat the entire time I'm back. Worth it for the month or so of feeling like crap after the visit

With a sprinkling of annual leave on top to get 10 days for the price of 4 - priceless.

Oh wait no it wasn't

I am back in on Tuesday for three days then Friday I fly out to Japan for two weeks. A bit of black metal and noise at that NWN/Hospital fest in Osaka followed by CULTURE! I'm going to be fat as fuck after two weeks in Japan.

Lol ya lucky bastard I'm going to be spending my special few days in fucking Thurles

All I can hope is that it's not pissing rain but at least I'll have the spare hours to go fishing with the two small lads and not catch anything vs being at work wishing I had the hours to do it.

Still.. fuck ya

Also stuck in for tomorrow and Tuesday off for a bit of a run at the weekend (and some Siege recovery).

Jaysus I would love to go to Japan, I looked up a good bit about the place online and have a mind to visit there in a few years when the kid is older.  Aside from all the cultural and tourist stuff there, I would absolutely eat myself sideways and go find some shows in Tokyo (know a lad who lived there before and said there is often underground shows of all sorts of metal/hardcore/noise varieties on).
