Weedpecker - IV:  The Stream of Forgotten thoughts

Have any of ye listened to this yet?  Seriously class psychedelic rock, lush and textured, melodic and proggy, if ye liked the Slift album this is spot on.

Their other stuff is class too, getting much more proggy/psych as  it goes on, but this new album is ridiculous.  Have been at it since it came out but tonight in particular it opened right up to me.  Too class.

Emperor - IX Equilibrium
My least favourite and listened to album by my favourite 2nd wave bm band. I tend to just wish i listening to Anthems, but as I don't own it on vinyl yet  re-exposing myself to this. Absolutely has its moments, just so dense and complex it can be off-putting compared to their previous.

Era what the fuck am i on about, the album is class. Used to listen to prometheus more back in the day but this is much more like it for me nowadays.

There are a few savage songs on it but yeah, the dense and VERY LOUD production makes it a slog for me. By contrast, the thin and sterile production on 'Anthems...'makes it completely unapproachable for me.

Cobalt: Gin

Been years since I last listened to it, fantastic stuff. I'm not a big black metal fan but atypical albums like this go down well.

Enslaved: Mardraum - Beyond The Within

Craven Idol - Forked Tongues. Possibly my favourite of the year.
Nile - Ithyphallic. Poor production especially the slightly annoying drums, but the songs are great.
Sacrilegia - The Triclavian Advent. Fucking killer album. Looking forward to hearing more from these guys.

"Gin" is a great album

Saw them play Roadburn a few years back
The singer made the band that day
Bit of a lunatic ;)

Yer man McSorley? I think he's left them since.

Cobalt, blast from the past there. Angry lads. Eater of Birds and Gin are both class albums.

Judas Priest - Unleashed in the East

On the classics tonight, Sepultura - Beneath The Remains
                                           Slayer - Reign In Blood

They never get old.

Suffocation - Of the Dark Light.  I found this album to be a chore to get through and was zoning out for most of it.

Pa Vesh En  -  Church of Bones
                         Pyrefication

Arcane Sun red vinyl arrived today and listening to it now.

Looking forward to that arriving.

Currently spinning 'The Holy Office' by Biophobia from Bulgaria. You can hear the Emperor influence in the keyboards, vocals and production but the riffs are chunkier and more death metal in places. They certainly stumbled on their own sound I think. The layout on the record is gas. It's one folded over piece of paper printed on both sides, but one side is shorter than the other so they don't meet. It's one way for a label to reduce its carbon footprint I suppose
