Hades- The Dawn of the Dying Sun
Old Man's Child- Born of the Flickering

Nile - In Their Darkened Shrines

'New' Mastodon track, recorded before they did that tour with Scott Kelly apparently.

For the first 40 seconds that wasn't bad at all, and then they did that thing with the chorus that reminds me why I haven't rated anything they've done in years. The verses almost hearken back to when they were good though. The Scott Kelly bit is grand as well

Yeah that started good but eh, Brann Dailor really is morphing into Phil Collins.

Yeah I don't mind his vocals but they can lean on them a bit heavily nowadays, it's like they're trying to keep Brent Hinds away from the mic or something .

Exodus - Bonded by Blood

I watched Murder in the Front Row during the week and am on a bit of a Bay Area buzz

Has anyone listened to his other band, Arcadea. Latter day Mastodon with keyboards instead of guitars, essentially. I've heard worse but they wouldn't hold my attention for long:

Cradle of Filth - Dusk and Her Embrace
Donna Summer - Bad Girls

I listened to a song off it at the time but never checked it out, not too bad but I don't think I could do an album of it.

Listening to this old EW bootleg of the original lineup that popped up on youtube, the audio is all panned to the left which is a bit annoying but it's still pretty cool as there's not much live stuff of them out there. Anyone ever get to see them back in the day?

This was an interesting one to come across: Ride The Lightning live, taken from various shows over the years (most songs from the time when Gollum could still play):

Amon Amarth-Deceiver, Sacrilege-Lost in the Beauty you Slay. Both trading under the banner of melodic Swedish death but that's where the similarities draw to a close.  Latter an underrated gem lost in the tsunami of  like-minded bands Gothenburg produced in the mid 90's era.  Fans of Eucharist, Gates of Ishtar or Ablaze my Sorrow may find solace here.

Paradise Lost - Obsidian

I really didn't have high hopes for this but it's the best thing they've done in years.
