Beherit – Drawing Down The Moon

Only my 2nd time listening to this.
I could start loving this after a few more listens I reckon

Wolves In The Throne Room – Two Hunters

  Pure love for this album

Pure love for this album

The one and only time I wish I could put up with vinyl, that version has bonus and extended tracks.

Exodus : Bonded By Blood. CD

Personally never had a problem with Baloff as vocalist. Great riffs/production all over.

Slayer: Hell Awaits/Show No Mercy CDs

Also never had a problem with the production on HA , OG CD , Maybe a better mix (?). Great nonetheless.

Night Demon : Night Demon ep (Cass)

Great heavy metal from some time ago

The new Neurosis album reminded me what a brilliant band Isis were. I need to give Sumac a listen as well, I've never heard a note of their music.
Would always suggest to start with "What One Becomes" with Sumac.  I love it all but that is probably the most cohesive of the lot to begin with.  Their albums get wilder as the band goes on.

I heard this when it came out, wasn't impressed at the time but it's going down well now. Still sounds like the sum of its parts as opposed to a proper collaboration but knowing that going in it works a bit better.
Great album.  Often forget about it but love it on a revisit.  Was a soundtrack to kicking about drinking cans in alleyways when I lived in Vancouver.  Must stick it on again this weekend.

That Isis/Aerogramme EP is great too, often forget about it.

Still listening to the Neurosis album and Machiavellian Art album in circles.  Outside of those:

Great Falls - "Conscription"
A collection of songs released for splits, singles, etc, and some other bits.  I had only heard some of these before.  They are all great and it works well together as a release.  Vicious and more to-the-point than their last album (I love their last album and don't find the meandering to be a fault at all, just appreciate the difference in both releases).

Pretty Mouth - "Dead Ends"
Mathcore, noisy, good stuff.  Lots of Daughters ish guitar work on there but a different style of thing in the end.

Isis: 1998 Demo, The Mosquito Control EP, The Red Sea, Sawblade

Not often that I listened to the early stuff, even when I was an Isis obsessive. CDs picked up and given the very odd listen. Very different band pre-Celestial, much more sludge-leaning.

Sumac: The Deal

Empyrium - Songs of Moors & Misty Fields

Great German melodic black metal from 97. Their later releases are more neo-folk, but this album is very similar to Bergtatt. Flutes galore.

I think I had their demo back in the day, a long time since I heard that name.

Urfaust - Geist ist Teufel
Urfaust - Der freiwillige bettler
Urfaust - Ritual music for the true clochard

Still absolutely kicking myself for never catching these when they came here. Deeply regret whatever inconsequential life bullshit prevented me from going.

A far better band too than the ponderous muck they want to churn out after Celestial. It's funny listening back to these now given how Neurosis inspired they are.

Im going to see Sumac in two weeks, looking forward to it.

Wudja shtap. Oceanic is one of the best in the genre.

Lȧȧz Rockit - Annihilation Principle
Realm - Suiciety

I fucking hate the term 'post metal', when it's very clearly still metal. Ambient metal, there you go.

Anyway, some of it's great.
