Two great albums, did you ever get the stormcrowfleet remaster?
I think I heard about both bands on the old forum

I did pick up the remastered vinyl. I really like it too, but today it was the CD with the original master. Both rule.

Iotunn - Kinship
Gorod - The Orb
Demigod - Slumber of Sullen Eyes
Beyond Creation - Algorythm
Angra - Holy Land

Scorpions - Blackout

Invuchie - Atavismo

Black Curse - Burning In Celestial Poison

Carcass:Heartworm
Misfits:Legacy Of Brutality
Beastmilk:Climax
Ministry:Twitch

It's been a productive morning!

Absolutely forgot about that Beastmilk album. Did they fuck themselves up with the name change? Grave Pleasures was an awful name by comparison. Climax was well decent as far as I remember. A fella gave me a copy of a demo from before that, and I think I remember that being better again but it has been years and I might be under the hallucination of lost time

I never listened to St. Anger all the way through, so I played the last 2 songs off the album for shits and giggles.

Except there were no giggles. They really went out of their way to make themselves sound as bad as possible.

Purify could have been a decent song maybe, I like the energy of it, but all the instruments just sound awful. The lyrics read like an abandoned word association game. The song finishes and then there's a 1 min groove which is kind of cool.

The final track 'All Within My Hands' gave me second hand embarrassment listening to Hetfield screaming "Kill kill kill". It's over 8 minutes long, stretched out with some unnecessarily painful feedback at the very end, a real slap in the face for anybody who actually listened to the album in its entirety!

The second album (or debut GP album?) was a lot cleaner and just didn't hit in the same way, think they've tried to return to the Climax sound on their recent stuff but haven't gave them much time.

I went to the local cd shop (heartbeat City) first thing in the morning to pick the thing up. What an awful bumming I took that day

It's a car crash of a yoke. There's a few decent riffs but the execution is an endless stream of own goals.

But it did give us loads of "Lars doing Lars things "content in the doc so we should be thankful for that. 😂
HE FUCKIN LEFT THE BAND!

I must go back and give Grave Pleasures' first album Dreamcrash a go, it didn't click at first and then I just let it slip into the past. Motherblood is actually pretty great though, not as good as Climax but pointing in the same direction. True enough though, the Beastmilk EP Use Your Deluge was their actual climax imo. Nothing I heard off the last one held my attention or made me want to explore further, especially not compared to the last Hexvessel.

Morbid Angel - Blessed are the Sick
Morbid Angel - Formulas Fatal to the Flesh (is this their finest moment? Possibly.)
Deströyer666 - Never Surrender
Hypocrisy - The Arrival
Kerber - Ratne Igre

Dead Congregation - Purifying Consecrated Ground

The Flight of Sleipnir - Nature's Cadence
Afflicted - Dawn of Glory
Iotunn - Kinship
Midnight Force - Severan
The Spirit - Songs Against Humanity
