I reckon that Chaotian album is killer as all fuck.

Neil Young - On the Beach
Morbid Angel - Altars of Madness

Must give that Chaotian album a spin later.

Evile - "Five Serpent's Teeth".

Utterly derivative of 80s thrash, but it's pretty much perfect. If Ol Drake was plouging his trade back then he'd be a household name nowadays.

Voivod - "Dimension Hatross"

No intro necessary. Their peak for sure. I remember hearing "Psychic Vacuum" on a compilation CD back in the day and struggling to get my head around it, but I kept going back to it, and that's what the whole album is like.

Aenigmatum - "Deconsecrate"

Jesus Christ, what a fucking record.

Porcupine Tree - "Closure/Continuation"

Pretty good so far. It's "more" PT, but that also means more Gavin Harrison, so I'm okay with that, as he's debatably the best drummer on the planet.

I'm really enjoying the Porcupine Tree album, far better than Wilson's solo output.

Type O Negative - Life is Killing Me. Sounds better than I remember but I'm probably just strung out for more Type O. Same thing happened me lately with NIN - Year Zero, I dunno if it's better than I credited it for or just strung out for a bit.

Absolutely

Anybody a fan of Testament - First Strike Still Deadly? It's a re-recording in the 2000s, of a bunch of their early songs.

The only review I saw on Wikipedia slated it, since you're messing with classics. But as someone who hadn't heard the originals, I adore this album.

The guitar tone and production is top notch, and all the songs are bangers.

It's decent, if pointless. TBH I just ended up making a playlist of the originals, I'd listen to that more.

One similar idea that's superior to the original is Exodus: Let There Be Blood - a 2008 rerecording of Bonded By Blood with Dukes singing. Anything is better than listening to Baloff's caterwauling obviously, and this sounds particularly beefy on top of it.

Aenigmatum stood up perfectly. Incredible record.

Steady now.

Exciter have a similar album called 'New Testament'. Very very cool.

Watching Down from Hellfest the other day. Class.

Anacrusis also re-recorded Suffering Hour and Reason in 2011. They both sound class. Were released together as a DLP called Hindsight.

Phil sounded great at it and his vocals just got better as the set went on. I wish they would tour again.

Morguiliath - Occult Sins, New Unholy Dimension
Mogenstern - Faust's Choice. Pt.I
Mord'A'Stigmata- Dreams of Quiet Places

Still unpacking this Chaotian album and very much enjoying it. Just put on the new Peridtion Temple. Sounds great so far and don't have any major issue with the sound.

White Dog - White Dog. Stumbled upon these boys yesterday. On Rise Above but seem to be fairly unknown. Mix of early Witchcraft, Captain Beyond, Blue Oyster Cult etc.
