Sounds good.

I have given it a few spins now and I don't like it near as much as the last album, that was one of my favorites of 2020.
Loved the production on the last one, I thought it sounded huge.
This new one sounds sterile as fuck to me. Similar to the production on that Malefic Throne EP.

Guitar is a lot clearer on the last one but I do like that as well. Certainly wouldn't class it as sterile. May sit better for ya when ya hear the full thing.

I only gave the Malefic Throne one listen and forgot to go back to it. Have it on again now. I think the production makes it fairly unremarkable but some cool ideas in there.

Yep, listened to it straight after. Apparently improvised, it might be the best track of the three - which would be closer to the spirit of the proper Krautrock artists.

Suppose you could argue they should have done it as a side-project or whatever, but just taking the music for what it is, definitely stands up as far as I'm concerned.

Just came across this quote in a Guardian article:

"They had considered starting a new project to release the ambient record, but in the end "we decided not to limit what Blood Incantation could do", says Faulk. They see the album as the end of their first chapter. "Now that we've proven we can do both metal and ambient, we're totally free to just be Blood Incantation," says Riedl. "We could play a death metal show with [Florida death metal icons] Morbid Angel and we could score a movie." "
