Invocator - Weave the Apocalypse

Prog mad the last couple of days, or maybe just Neal Morse mad:

Spock's Beard - V
Spock's Beard - Beware of Darkness
Spock's Beard - Day For Night
Neal Morse Band - Similitude Of A Dream
Transatlantic - Bridge Across Forever

All that prog eventually led me through a Porcupine Tree binge, and then onto Opeth's In Cauda Venenum, which I've lauded on here several times. Dunno, just totally clicks with me in a way no Opeth album has since Ghost Reveries, but I think it's much better than that, which was already a bit of a water treader with respect to their previous few.

Great album. I like everything up to Watershed. More familiar with some than others but always happy to listen to any of them.

The Zofos album on in the car today. I really like it. It has clear Greek traits but also has its own vibe.  Epic stuff.

Listening to some new Chilean DM, it's a banger!

That the RC/Necromantia lads? If so, I heard that over the weekend and it sounded cool.

That's Zaratus you're thinking of. Must pick that up when I can as it's a savage album. Give Zofos a spin.

Will do. It was Yoth Iria that I heard.

I haven't given Yoth Iria as much attention but I did like what I heard. I just had the Zaratus album on on YouTube there actually. Well worth a listen too.

I had it on last week but didn't get far into it. Savage artwork.

Solium -  The Styx Is Witching Me

Portrait - At One With None. trad metal album of the year.. fucking superb

The latest Brainstorm is up there with the best of the trad metal for me this year.
It's so over the top I can't help but be carried away!

Sodom - Obsessed by Cruelty
                Persecution Mania
                Agent Orange
                Better off Dead

Ænigmatum - Deconsecrate

Just found these guys as they were listed on angrymetalguys albums of the month, missed the thread on them. Great stuff, techy without being wanky and a lot of nice melodic moments.
