Definitely in my Top Three DT. My introduction to the band too so I suppose that adds to it.
Wearing jeans and leather, not crackerjack clothes

That new Cruel Force stuff is very repetitive as infers have said. Also it's like the drummer bought the rototom set up before they hit the studio and proceeded to let rip.

New Converge (again), go and shite. Amy other band would be ignored peddling this.

One exciting Converge lp this year would be better than 2 mediocre ones. Definitely a band who have reached the limit of their ideas, let's say

Thou Shalt Suffer- Into The Woods of Belial 3 LP.  This beaut landed today. Sounds utterly fucking monstrous and looks incredible. I spent a pretty penny on the picture disc edition and I'm glad I did. Another stunning reissue from DSR  8)

Between the 2 Converge releases there is probably a strong ep.
Double merch sales will soothe any critical woes that may face I'm sure.

Sacramentum - Far Away From The Sun
Darvasa - We Are Him

Nice. Been listening to that lately. Didn't realise there was a reissue.

Yeah man, well worth a look. Arguably the first LP is the essential one as it has Into The Woods of Belial on side A and Open The Mysteries of Your Creation 7" on side B. Nice to have them both. All the rest is rehearsal stuff going back to earlier forms of the band- Embrionic and Xerasia. The sound quality is still pretty good despite the limited recording techniques.

If there is one thing I might complain about at a push, it's the fact that they didn't use the strange, psychedelic style lettering on Into The Woods of Belial. The lettering they did use like great too, in fairness, but still.

Immortal - At the Heart of Winter  :abbath:

That Thou Shalt Suffer 3 LP set just went on sale this morning until April 6th.

Xerasia- Rehearsal 1990 (side F of the Thou Shalt Suffer collection). This is pure Pentagrimes DM. Not far off the Vircolac demo style-wise, though much rawer. I'll have to root out the Vircolac demo next for a spin.

Vircolac- Codex Perfida demo. Karen's bass tone was mighty on those early Vircolac releases. So clangy but full of weight.

Visigoth- Final Spell/ Vengeance demos. I listened to this tape a thousand times back then. What a savage little ripper.

Yer talk of Vircolac past lineups had me digging through metallum as Id not kept tabs on em for a while.

Never copped there was crossover with De Novissimis. That track on the WOTH split, worthy of nothing is immense. One of my fav Irish releases ever. Gonna root out the vinyl tomorrow and revisit.

Long time since I lobbed that on myself  ???
