Species - Changelings
Evoken - Shades of Night Descending
Rainbows Are Free - Silver & Gold
Immolation - Here In After
Stratovarius - Polaris

Dark Opera- The Day of Pariah.
Sovereign- Rehearsal 1995.
Isen Torr- Mighty and Superior. There was talk years ago of something new coming from Isen Torr with James from Terminus on vocals. I wonder whatever happened to that idea.

Dillinger Escape Plan - Option Paralysis
Morbid Angel - Formulas Fatal To The Flesh
Fantomas - Directors Cut

Plaagdrager- Rampspoed & verdriet

Would love to hear more from Isen Torr as well. Those two songs are fucking great!

Wolverine - Anomalies (always had a soft spot for these Swedish progsters, especially the first two albums - is progsters even a word?)
Megadeth - Peace Sells..
Infernal Flame - The Grave
Mayhem - Liturgy of Death
Soen - Reliance (another Swedish prog band I have a soft spot for).

On CD

Ritual Carnage – The Birth Of Tragedy

Trepaneringsritualen- Veil The World.
Thorns- Thorns.

Was only listening to this yesterday myself. Vocals never did anything for me, but the guitar playing on that record is excellent.

Converge - Love Is Not Enough

Gave this a spin on the train and it sounds good. All We Love We Leave Behind and The Dusk in Us were too sterile for my ears. This sounds rawer, more like You Fail Me.

Queensrÿche – The Warning

Didn't know this:

"In support of the release, Queensrÿche went on a worldwide tour from August 1984 through to July 1985.
During the American leg of their tour,
they were the opening act for Kiss on their 1984–85 Animalize Tour and
Iron Maiden on their 1984–85 World Slavery Tour,
while in Europe they opened for Dio on their The Last in Line tour 1984.
They also opened for Accept on their Metal Heart tour in 1985."

Some sluts!

I was looking for it on Bandcamp this morning but it still isn't up in full.  YFM is my favourite Converge album so looking forward to giving it a spin later now.

Throne of Iron - Adventure Two
Venger - Times of Legend
Helloween - Keeper 2
Iron Void / Orodruin - Altar of Worship
Rotting Christ - Aealo (new re-recorded version)

I think that both vocalists are fine on the album, and put in decent contributions, but yeah, it's about the riffs and electronics really.

If Snorre ever manages to get the new album out I'll be curious to see how he approaches it. I have read that he regrets the clinical production of the debut, but for that era and militant industrial style of BM it makes sense. Of course, being me, I would love to hear him do an album of more warped,  lo-fi or just plain weird black metal, but I'm sure the new one, if it does ever actually get released, will have a top of the range production. Perhaps a bit more organic sounding, but still... fancy....

Ah yeah the vocals are grand, just not what Id ever reach for the record for. More just window dressing on the tunes!

Its funny he regrets the production, thats why I ended up sticking it on yesterday. I was lauding super cold guitar tones in conversation with a friend and the record came up. Its one of its standout attributes imo. While certainly an aquired taste I love how sterile it all sounds.

Id be in the same boat as you, but wouldnt be holding out much hope for a follow up album, let alone one that sounds suitably harsh.

Apparently it's recorded. Let's find out...
