Beyond Creation - Algorythm

First time hearing, on a recommendation. Not bad!

Mr. Bungle - Disco Volante going on now, just saw it was released 30 years ago today. Personally, my favourite non-FNM Patton release.

DV is my favorite record of all time. I can still remember getting the cd, and myself and a mate rushing back to my gaff to listen to it so clearly. When the jazz/thrash transition in "Carry stress" kicked in we both broke into hysterical "what the fuck is going on?" laughter.

Haha, yeah. I don't remember the first time I heard DV, but do remember first hearing them overall, via the self-titled, and having pretty much exactly that reaction.

I remember knowing SFA about them bar Patton's involvement, and upon seeing DV habing a song called "Desert Search for Techno Allah" I figured I need to hear this...

Wasn't disappointed  :abbath:

Prefer their earlier ones but there's not much in it, very consistent band. First two had Dominic Lapointe on bass though and which seals it for me, love his playing

Rancid- s/t 1993. Years and years since I've put this on. What a fucking album. Unreal.

Black Hawk Down and Rwanda are 2 absolute anthems. They were on fire for that album.

Wrong album ;) The '93 one is the one in talking about.

Must check them out so, since the bass playing is the main stand out on this one too!

I just saw Rancid s/t and immediately thought of Rancid 2000. That album is brilliant.
I started with And Out Come The Wolves, never really went back beyond it.

Pralaya -beyond the tattered curtain of unspeakable madness
Therion -symphony masses
At the gates - with fear I kiss the burning darkness .
Deathspell omega -kenose

I tapped out after the 2000 one. Dunno. It's OK but lacks the anthemic nature of the earlier stuff. The 93 s/t and Let's Go are well worth a listen.

Couldn't let Disco Volante pass me by today. There's every chance it's the best album ever
