Mercyful Fate - Melissa 10/10
No doubting the Daddy in the house this week, the Dane's 1983 debut landed like an atom bomb and changed the landscape of Metal forever. Pity I have to sing along in a much lower register these days :(

Exodus - Pleasures Of The Flesh 9/10
Following up THAT debut was always a tall order (and with a new frontman as well) but for me Exodus reeled of another classic Bay Area Thrash album here. I better stick on Bonded.. soon or I'll be claiming this my favourite by the band.

Sijjin- Helljjin Combat 7.5/10
New one back off the shelf ahead of Tuesday night, this one ditches the Morbid Angel worship of Sumerian Promises in favour of a chuggy, thrashy attack, unexpected but not bad at all. Still prefer the debut though.

Windir - Soknardalr 7/10
1997 debut where Valfar (RIP) solidified the vision of his first two demos of stirring, stomping Pagan Viking Metal (I refuse to call these triumphant and often uplifting foolish melodies Black Metal).

Isole - Born From Shadows 7/10
Fifth one from the Epic Doomsters and much like the cover its not one of their best, not enough going on in the way of truly memorable riffs to warrant its 55mins + running time but it does of course have gravitas in spades and that, just about, wins the
day.

Bio-Cancer - Revengeance 4/10
Cheap blind buy, Greek modern thrash/melodeath, the music isn't bad, reminds me of Shadows Fall but the vocals..fuck me, a ridiculously over the top and hyper-aggressive screamy rasp that is more in line with a grindcore album, I actually tried playing it at different speeds at first but nope ,it is what it is. A shame really.
Wearing jeans and leather, not crackerjack clothes

Cathedral - Society's Pact With Satan

Cool enough, had a little cackle when the "Phantom of the Opera" riff came in (No, not the Maiden song...)

Odd that they "forgot" they hada half hour song lying around unreleased

DESTRUCTION - Live Without Sense CD 1989

The good old songs with a tighter drummer: )

Anciients - Voice Of The Void
Danzig - Lucifuge
Alice In Chains - Alice In Chains

The Dillinger Escape Plan - One of Us is the Killer. Not my favourite album, but "Paranoia Shields" is my favourite song of theirs.

Also, Transformers The Movie - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. NRG's "Instruments of Destruction" being in one of the pivotal scenes of a kids' film... bless you, 1980s.

Year Of No Light - "Consolamentum"
Stumbled across it through Instagram, gave the full album a go yesterday and this morning again.  Really savage, solid, post metal/doom.

The Sword - Used Future
Paradise Lost - Live At The Mill
Negura Bunget - Zau
Desaster - A Touch of Medieval Darkness
Minenwerfer - Kreigserklarung
Lady Beast - The Inner Alchemist

Suffering Hour - Impelling Rebirth.

Belter.

Savage album cover. Interesting sound they've got going on but I'm not sure how much I'd be inclined to listen to it.

Trelldom- Til Evighet...

Haha yes, I saw that... I'll, eh... I'll think about it...

Not sure how often I'd go back to it but I like that it's the full package with the artwork/theme and music.
