Mastodon - Remission

Been listening to Mastodon for 19 years, mostly Leviathan, Blood Mountain and Crack the Skye. I made a half arsed attempt at listening to this yonks ago, but was put off by the vocals way back then, was only dipping my delicate wee toes into more shouty stuff. Fuck me the music on this is class. Brann Dailor sounds like a primitive beast.

The Velvet Revolver set from Ozfest/Download 2005 came up on YouTube. I was there, brilliant gig. Looking at it now Slash was sloppy in parts, the bass tone is so good.
Scott Weiland was on fire.
The other guitar player had a beanie.

Back on Nevermore and Portrait today after a few days revisiting Deftones. Surprised myself at how well I know those first three albums. Great stuff for working to, though that's also a reflection of it being essentially in the "easy listening" zone of hard rock/metal.
