Khemmis - Hunted (2016) 8.5/10
On just their second album the Denver boys damn near perfected this type of American Doom with Classic Rock, influences, virtually one upping Pallbearer at their own game and the whole thing culminates in a 13 minute epic that Slough Feg would be proud of.

Malthusian - The Summoning Bell (2025) 8.5/10
Three weeks now letting this one settle in and it deserves that kind of patience and attention, a churning, heaving, mordant beast of a record with which to witness the increasingly likely end of our times.

Carpathian Forest - Through Chasm, Caves and Titan Woods (1995) 8/10
Probably my favourite C.F. release this, the contrast between the Nordavind and the Nattefrost compositions, instead of jarring, is strangely magical and a freezeframe of the creativity prevalent in the nascent Norwegian Black Metal scene.

WASP..-Unholy Terror (2001) 7.5/10
This is probably the pick of the post Crimson Idol records from Blackie and yeah, familiar chord progressions and vocal patterns abound but hey,it's WASP not Wagner, for the most part, this rocks.

The Crown -  Death Is Not Dead (2014) 7/10
Not their usual all out face flaying fare by any means as the band experimented with varying tempos and styles, to the chagrin of many but I like this one and the cover of Eternal is excellent. The violin on Meduseld, not so much.

Dreadnought - Emergence (2019) 6.5/10
A bit more 'arty' than Metal this one from a band who probably call themselves 'a collective' ,dreamy prog-  psyche rock with harsh and clean female vocals, this is the middle one out of five albums, I'm probably one and done with them but it this still gets a spin when the mood takes.
Wearing jeans and leather, not crackerjack clothes

Checked out the most recent Lamb of God album Omens that came out a few years back. I haven't listened to them in years and barely did in the first place. The new one was the exact same as how they've always sounded. Those two guitarists have zero ideas. Literally zero.

Here's the thing though, it's surprisingly good background music because it's so generic. When exercising it doesn't distract me at all or break  my concentration, but has a good energy for working out. If I stuck on something like Filosofem or Leviathan I'd start to get sucked in and then it's harder to count or stay focused on the task at hand

Root- The Temple In The Underworld.

Candlemass - Black Star
Wytch Hazel - V. Lamentations
Saor - Amidst the Ruins
Green Lung - Woodland Rites
Black Sabbath - Forbidden (this is the remixed version, really must compare it to the original).
Tank - Filth Hounds of Hades
Hate Forest - Dead But Dreaming
Rush - Fly By Night

Nevermore - This Godless Endeavour.

Feeling a bit rickety to realise this came out just over 20 years ago now.

Going through my old vinyl and I came across heavy load monsters of the night 7 inch, others I took out and played were Hades- at first you don't succeed album,acrophet- faded glory album,2 excellent albums well worth spinning again

Temple Below - Dark Goddess

Embrace Of Thorns - Scorn Aesthetics

Ensnared - Dysangelium

Savage night at work listening to the new Crimson Butchery, Malthusian and Necrokinesis, fair play to everyone involved in these releases, three contrasting styles done superbly well,  there's a gig there that needs to happen surely.  Triple Tri-Colour Terror 🇮🇪
