New album from AULD RIDGE
For Death and Glory, to the Gods I Cry

Finest of black metal. Probably not that well known. I like all the Auld Ridge gear and the related project Albionic Hermeticism is great shit too.

I like the Auld Ridge stuff I've listened to on YouTube but I've yet to bite the bullet. Dark Adversary over here had released some of his stuff, or at least has it in stock, so I'll have to fire in an order in the coming weeks.

Gorgoroth- Antichrist.
Gorgoroth- Pentagram.

Dark Adversary released most of the albums on CD and Amor Fati has done most of the vinyl.

Metallica: AJFA Rough Mixes From The Vault

Much better than the actual album.

Edit: Metallica Seattle '89 - their finest hour full stop.

Anathema - The Silent Enigma

I think as a death/doom/gothic album it's almost flawless, wish they had done some more like that.

"Come on!!"

First Auld Ridge is savage. Must check out the new one.

Exodus - Bonded with Blood
Satyricon - Dark Medieval Times
Emperor - In The Nightside Eclipse

Veles- Black Hateful Metal. Fairly fucking raw in fairness.

Terror - One With The Underdogs.
Majesties - Vast Reaches Unclaimed.
Marduk - Menento Mori.

Rebel extravaganza. Satyricons last good album and my personal favourite.

It's a fantastic album, definitely not their last good one though.
Volcano and Now Diabolical are both excellent.

Metallica - ...And Justice For All 10/10
Definitely my favourite Metallica. This week.

Venenum s/t EP 9/10
Really slept on these guys over the years but after picking up this debut and the subsequent album dirt cheap from Irish distro Unveiled In Death, I'm lapping this shit up. Germany doesn't resound with me for its Death Metal output but this stuff is class.

Thantifaxath -  Void Masquerading As Matter 9/10
Another EP floating my boat this week (in my day 35 mins was a short album).

Crypt Sermon - The Stygian Rose 8/10
This one should have got more attention from me last year, just recently snagged the lp from Invictus. I still get that little niggle that Brooks' vocals lack a bit of heft for this stuff but the band are doing so much right it's hard to criticse.

Occult Burial - Hideous Obscure 7/10
Oh yeah baby, black thrash with the empathsis firmly on that hard old style early eighties thrash reminiscent of Razor et al

Jag Panzer - Ample Destruction 8/10
Debut L.P. from '84 should've been the start of great things for these boys but it wasn't to be and the band never really got their stride again til the late nineties. Good to hear the Tyrant still sounding as good as ever on last year's Cloven Hoof LP though.

Definitely my favourite Metallica. This week.

I was listening to the Work In Progress Rough Mix the other night, I much prefer it to the original. The audible bass makes a huge difference, and the lack of solos and intros make it a much more aggressive listen overall.

Venenum ep is amazing. Album took years to come out and didn't fit the bill when it did but went back to it last year and really enjoyed it. Must go back again. On the offchance that you haven't heard their previous band Excoriate, get on it. On Pestilent Winds is 10/10.

The Wounded Kings - The Shadow Over Atlantis
