Quote from: open face surgery on January 09, 2025, 12:01:30 AMYa, it's a god awful name. They look like spastics in the new promos as well. They look like substitute teachers. Bandwagoning onto the extra proggy buzz that's so "in"

Ah they've been in that ballpark a few years to be fair musically with the Goblin influence, not that I care for them particularly,  this new one did nothing for me and I'd rather listen to actual prog/film soundtracks.

There's an Irish hardcore punk band called Bedsores as well funnily enough. Not mad about them either.

Satanic Warmaster - Exultation of Cruelty (not bad and a lot better than the last few albums. Carelian was the peak and things started going downhill after that but this at least when it comes to the productions sounds a lot more like the good era of the band)
Blackdeath - Mortui Incedere Possunt
Pantera - GTS
Pantera - FBD
Napalm Death - From Enslavement
Full of Hell - Rudiments of Mutilation

Denim and leather brought us all together  :abbath:

Triumpher - Spirit Invictus
Not my usual tipple but this is great HM/PM. Solos are shredtastic.

Macabre Omen - God's of War, At War.
Been ages. What a banger!?!

Edit: Have become far more partial to the Hellenic style since I last listened to this so this is even better than I remembered. From Son to Father used to get a skip but works for me now.

Unto Others - Strength (picked up for a bargain... initial thoughts are... wow this is good though it gets a bit samey as you go through the album).

Sabbat - History of a Time to Come (an essential thrash album for me, one of my all time favourites).

Majesties - Vast Reaches Unclaimed (really good melo-death release from 2023. Can't remember if I did a best of 2023, but I'd I did this would have been second to MegatonSword).

Dark Quarterer - Pompei (this is another absolute banger of an album from 2020.  Grandiose is perhaps the best word to describe it and perhaps the first mention of Plinius the Elder in a metal album).

Lake of Tears - A Crimson Cosmos (they wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea, but have always loved Lake of Tears... well everything up to the Black Brick Road).

Graveland - Thousand Swords
Mütiilation - Vampires of Black Imperial Blood
