Two of my favourite-ever albums right there  :abbath:

Sammath - Triumph in Hatred
Wolfchant - Bloody Tales of Disgraced Lands
Skyforger - Thunderforge

Oryx - Primordial Sky
Hefty doom/sludge. Hitting the spot nicely this evening

Great album, just tore the place asunder to try and find the CD - no luck but did dig out Obtest - Auka Seniems Dievams which is as good a listen.

Sargeist - Satanic black devotion
Sargeist - Let the devil in

Sargeist passed me by until recently but these 2 have been on pretty heavy rotation, great stuff. For some reason I always lumped them in with the Polish crowd rather than the fins.

Don't think I have heard of note of Obtest.  Hope that CD turns up.  Amazing album.

The Wizards - Exit Garden
Lunar Shadow - Far From Light
Judas Priest - Screaming for Vengeance
Iced Earth - Burnt Offerings
Marduk - Nightwing
WASP - The Headless Children
Iced Earth - Night of the Storm riders

Obtest are well worth a listen.

Sodom - Epitome of Torture 7/10
Dug this one out again and surprised myself by enjoying it more than previously, the band have plateuxed years ago to my mind but yeah, this got the head nodding this week, low expectations always help I suppose.

Saxon - Forever Free 6.5/10
              Power And The Glory 7/10
Almost ten years between these two albums which shows just how long Saxon carried on their courtship of the American college radio public. While the band seemed perpetually stuck between two (bar)stools it never irked me as much as it does some people, the band were writing heaps of good tunes be they in the vein of Hard Rock, Glam or Classic British Metal.

Holycide - Annihilate...Then Ask 6/10
Debut from the Spanish Thrashers featuring Dave Rotten (Avulsed/Stream Records) on vox. Intense, aggressive and worth a spin.

Monolithe - Black Hole District 5.5/10
Hmm, not sure what I was thinking when I lobbed this into the Hammerheart cart. I had one by them already but this tenth one leaves me a bit cold and finding little of any really substance to chow down on amongst its narrated, cinematic soundtrack journey.

Anthrax - Stomp 442 5/10
The band will be marking the 30 anniversary of this one this year but no amount of bells and whistles could make any reissue a palatable prospect. The back end of this in particular is the low point of the band's career for me.

Their last great album IMO, some fantastic stuff on it. Stigmatized is a personal favourite.

Yeah, that super melodic chorus from Unkle Tom in Final Bullet doesn't half get stuck in the head too

The trademark mispronunciation is present too: "Epitoom, epitoom of torture!"

Gotta love those Germans
