Upon Stone - Dead Mother Moon

Quote from: Eoin McLove on January 26, 2024, 08:41:45 PMMust revisit that one. It's not as good as Forest but decent.

Very little is as good as Forest TBF. What makes is for me is the loss of the funky shite and seriously heavy riffs.

Reverend Bizarre: In The Rectory Of The Bizarre Reverend while reading Eoin McLove's 10th anniversary retrospective/interview.

Supoib.

Candlemass: Tales Of Creation
Kyuss: Blues For The Red Sun
Carcass: Symphonies & Necroticism
Metallica: Seattle '89

Hellhammer - Apocalyptic Raids
Steelover - Glove Me (very catchy 80s heavy metal/hard rock from Belgium)
The Oath - The Oath (the precursor to Lucifer - love her vocals).
Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons - Kings of the Asylum (easy listening and very catchy, perfect for a can't be arsed Friday afternoon in front of the computer pretending to work)
Armoured Dawn - Barbarians in Black (same as above - great vocals if your into that heavy/power metal thing)
Deicide - The Stench of Redemption

Astral crypt of moloch - impurity

Decided to have a Death Metal Saturday so going through some older death metal I haven't listened to in ages.

Exmortum - Nihilistic Contentment (for a reason unknown to me now I really liked this back in 2005 when it was released.  Fairly average on listening back a few times this morning).
Hate Eternal - Conquering the Throne (only ever listened to their first two albums, am I missing out on anything essential?)
Anata - The Infernal Depths of Hatred (another really good debut album.   Still a good listen).
Broken Hope - Grotesque Blessings (not really doing it for me)
Carcass - Heartwork (classic).

Hasturian Vigil lp - great stuff

Watain - Casus Luciferi
Rush - Moving Pictures
In Solitude - The World, The Flesh, The Devil
Ljosazabojstwa - Staražytnaje licha

I, Monarch is cool and Upon Desolate Sands is savage. Haven't bothered with any of the others.

I have that one myself. Loved it at the time but haven't played it in about 15 years, I must dig it out and see how it holds up.

GG Allin, You'll tame me. Wow so good.

Cruciamentum- Obsidian Refractions.

There were many high quality death metal albums out last year I feel like, but this is truly just expertly executed and I cannot fault it whatsoever. Their best release so far easily, all the murkiness is there but is just heavier and louder and deadlier.

Drowned- Procul His.

Just listening to this for the first time this evening. I love the first Drowned Idola Specus album so I have high expectations, demands which appear to have been met quite easily.

Black Sabbath: Dehumanizer

Pig Destroyer - Prowler, Book Burner and Terrifyer. Great for clearing the mind.
