There's just something cheesy and camp about Dave Vincent. For the most part can't take MA's albums with him seriously.

Gateways to Annihilation destroys the rest of their discography for me.

You cant take some of the greatest death metal albums ever made seriously because of Vincent?.

I like Gateways ,good solid DM album,but come on!

Yup. It's more than that though. Sandoval was ferocious but a one trick pony, the guitar tones are weak sauce on a lot of the albums too.

I'd consider MA to be one of the most overrated bands in metal.

When I say "discography" I mean the first EP and four albums. They're very much one of those bands that continue to taint their legacy with every new song they record.

It's obviously easy to ignore the reunion/crap records, but it does leave a sour taste.
