Quote from: Eoin McLove on August 01, 2026, 10:47:27 PMApparently John Brenner of Revelation has died at 59. A part of me had hoped that the reigniting of Warning, with Patrick Walker citing Brenner as an important influence on his writing, might somehow kick-start Revelation. Pity that will never happen now. I know nothing about the man, but I have a few Revelation albums in the collection and always felt they were a unique entity. RIP to an underground legend.

Am I imagining it or did Revelation play the Voodoo Lounge?I know I saw them at least once. But yes . RIP , wasnt an enormous fan but I'm old enough to absolutely understand he was  a pioneer, I remember the first Revelation and first Penance coming out and picking both up.

Against Nature opened for Warning, along with The River, in The Voodoo in 07. They comprised, I think, all members of Revelation!

Noo..I definitely saw Revelation. Mustn't have been in Dublin

Against Nature was the exact same heads as the Salvations Answer lineup or Revelation.
Revelation with the exact same lineup did a few dates in Europe around 2010 I think? Can't recall if they played here round then? I do remember hearing that Brenner had come here for a holiday around that time too.

Sad to think both of Revelations singers are gone now with Dennis Cornelius passing away a few years ago too.

Worth a read in the wake of the Hansard discussion:

It doesn't go into specifics but examines the differing perspectives on public figures after their deaths.
