MTV are doing a special about him.

Ian Huntley unplugged..

Shane Rout the man behind Abyssic Hate looks like he passed away yesterday. Shame we never got that second album that was coming for the last 20+ years.

I'm guessing you saw that on the ROD forum? I'll share my little story here too.

I didn't know him and never met him but only yesterday I was messaging Ryan Marauder from Gospel. I had spent the weekend down near the place he grew up and he was saying he was planning on going down there to meet up with Shane and Skullfucker from Bestial Warlust, who both live out that direction. Also, in another coincidence, a week or two ago I messaged Phil Bulleteater (Hobbs, D666, Long Voyage Back etc) who lives in the same town as me to see if he was on for a jam. He said he has enough bands going at the minute but if I would like he could put me in touch with Shane Rout. I said yeah, why not. Never heard back from either. That's as close as I came to getting black listed by Antifa for jamming with someone sketch. And now he's apparently dead. Mental.

RIP.

He use to post on one of the old international forums thats gone now. I vaguely remember him posting about the World Cup that was going on at the time and that he was working on the new album. Shame it never came out Suicidal Emotions is one of the best releases to ever come out of Australia and a rare case where the drum machine really suits the music.

He released a split a few years ago but it was just a pointless cover song and I don't know if that was recently recorded or just something he had lying around. A Decade of Hate is also great and has all of the non album material except for that recent split track.

So he'd rather die than have a jam with ya? Bit harsh.

That's what it looks like  :-X

I just read about it somewhere else before coming here to post about it. Suicidal Emotions is up there with any of the other top DSBM albums that have been released. As you say it's a pity we never got to hear the follow-up

That's a shitter about the guy from Abyssic Hate. What a fucking great album Suicidal Emotions is. Even though I find DSBM highly cringe and the lyrics on this particular album are certainly no exception. Terrible.

I hope it was natural causes anyway. Being a middle aged man isn't easy.

I think it was drink/ lifestyle related.

Phil Campbell from Motorhead passed last night.  And Lemmy's tech Ian Dobbie the day before.

Ah!

That's a shame, when I was 12 my old man took me to see Motorhead in the Olympia, my first metal gig, surely had to be the youngest in there  :abbath:, for ages after a sunburst explorer was my dream guitar.

Gutted, sad news be banging out a few tunes tonight.

Yeah! That's shit news.
Campbell was an essential part of Motorhead's legacy.
Was only listening to 1916 the other week for the umpteenth time. Still one of my all-time favourite albums a pivotal one for me back in the day.

Only Mickey Dee left flying the flag now.
