I didn't actually know that was by him

Another exhibit to add to the evidence pile for "everyone went shit in the 80s"  :D

He produced and played on most of Weird Al Jankovics 80s records too.

Colin Jerwood from Conflict, after "a short illness". I presume that means the big C.

Just saw this only saw them in the LostLane 2 weeks ago. Spoke to Colin at it and he seemed off before the show I thought he was pissed the way he was walking around yet he doesn't drink. Then on stage he said he wanted to end the show a few songs early because he was unwell but the crowd cheering got him to stay on stage for a few more. Then they played Belfast the next night. I don't think it was cancer as they still had a good few gigs planned for the next few months seemed more like he had a bad cold or the flu when he was here.

I know he missed a few gigs in April due to illness, he mentioned difficulty breathing so it must have been a respiratory ailment of some description. A shame anyway.

He was sweating an awful lot on the stage as well. I nearly didn't go 2 weeks ago as I had a few things going on that weekend and like GBH they play here fairly often but so glad I went now. He was a lovely fella any time I spoke to him and always seemed to have time for anyone who approached him at shows.

That's 3 dead now in the last year that I saw and spoke to at shows. Colin and then Juan & Pinche from Brujeria.

RIP Brian Wilson. The Beach Boys have been a significant part of my musical DNA since first discovering during lucky dip digging into the record collection at home when I was only a nipper.

Similar, I had an uncle who was a huge Beach Boys fan so had lots of exposure growing up. I saw him play three times, including the Pet Sounds tour he did, really quite a revelation in terms of seeing what it took to make that amazing music.

Just heard that. I never saw the attraction TBH, I've always found them irritating. I'm in the minority there.

I also just heard that Frederick Forsythe has died. I've only read The Day Of The Jackal but that was quute decent.

Both were 82.

Chuck Profus, Agent Steel drummer. Shit buzz.

Same. I saw Brian Wilson with an amazing band at Electric Picnic. That gig was amazing.

Douglas McCarthy from Nitzer Ebb, 58. Probably from cirrhosis of the liver.

Ah that's sad news some cracker albums over the years.

Nitzer Ebb is one of those names I know but I've never heard a note of their music. Give me a good album to check out.
