Weird one. The music sounds absolutely nothing like I'd associate with Anthrax. It seems to be taking from a few different places. The moody intro building into Euro, big festival black metal, blast beats taken, no doubt, from Slipknot to tick the EXTREME box, and a noodly nu metal riff the type we all wrote a song or two around when we were 16   it all amounts to nothing. It's all over the gaff but in a way that seems like it's clawing for identity, rather than pushing forward. Pure Robb Flynn sort of stuff. At least the banal lyrics don't quite sink to his level

The melo-black thing sounded pretty cool until they added the 'woahs' and it all got very Kerrang metal from there.

Had a big whiff of metalcore to it alright.

Would love to see it over this way.

Don't think much of that one at all. It might work better in the context of the album but, for now, that's te weakest thing they've put out in a long time.

It's another one that would have worked with Bush. There's the bones of a decent hook in it.

It's a nothing song, pure filler. This album is shaping up to be seriously subpar.

I think it's the ten years of spoofing, talking it up, twenty second snippets etc that's made things worse for them.

But that's the worst of the three for sure.

All of the older bands that I used to worship are making it really easy to not feel bad about not going to see them live or part with money for new releases that they've obviously fucked together to justify a touring cycle.

Fuck. Once Sepultura are gone is it only Voivod left from that time who are making interesting and relevant music?

I have tried to like Anthrax many times over the years but they just never really clicked.
Persistence of Time and Among The Living are the only ones I ever find myself going back to, and that's a very rare occasion.
Been dipping in again recently and I reckon I haven't missed a lot.
