Shower hands down, but it's a moot point as the power has gone again. I just got back into bed, at least it's warm.

At 11 this morning I'd have taken the shower as well.

We always seem to avoid the worst of any storms here in mid tipp. I guess it's the surrounding hills taking the sting out of it luckily enough

We have water back now but the power is still patchy. Half strength, lights are dim and it took an age to boil the kettle. At least I have the cup of tea! Not enough juice for a shower though, fuck.

We're lucky compared to a lot of the country (and world), safe and sound at least.

Ah yeah tbf we have it very temperate here in general we are lucky that way.

I would take a small bit less rain if it was going though

A bit late to the Bobby Fingers train, just watched some of his videos there. Fucking hell, it's fantastic!

I found this interesting, an exploration of CD vs. vinyl in terms of sound:

https://www.westword.com/music/why-cds-actually-sound-better-than-vinyl-6771562

It's a few years old but worth a quick read.

Saying one is "better" than the other is the problem. CDs offer a sound which is vastly closer to the original sound created by the musicians and engineers in the studio. It's a more accurate representation of the actual intended sound of the piece of music. Many people, though I'm definitely not one of them, prefer the compromised sound of a record. What's better is what the listener prefers the sound of, though.

I think records generally sound shit to be honest, however, I studied sound engineering for three years and trained to really listen, and when people buy analogue versions of recordings which have been digitised at some point of the process, i.e. most records printed and released today, I don't get that at all. How does an analogue reproduction of a digitised sound wave not sound digital? Still, the customer is always right, it's what people actually prefer that matters. It's good to see people buying music one way or the other, whatever format they choose. There's more to the music listening experience than just the medium it arrives as.

There's never any point in getting into the audiophile arguments with those lads.
The majority of the cunts have more money than sense for gear.

"Only SACDs (with the OBI) played in a hermetically sealed cocoon the way the engineers assistant intended is the true superior listening experience"
