I've had a few over the years. I had a friend in my teenage years that would spin yarns of absolute scutter about the famous people he met and the antics his "band" got up to. The lad didn't even have a guitar until I sold him one. It was always harmless though and his enthusiasm was infectious. Anyway, many years later, some stories about his home life began to come out. Really bad abuse and sexual stuff.

Now, being older and somewhat wiser, when I hear someone talking absolute and obvious bukllshit, I wonder what made that way.

I've had to sit on this for a while but I can announce today that we have signed with No Remorse Records and they'll be putting the album out.

And the voice of the Predator and so many others. He was the voice of Karr in Knightrider and that was childhood nightmare fuel. A true legend.

I work with quadriplegic adults and the Tiny Desk Concerts are often left on as background entertainment for the lads. So, you can imagine my joy at seeing this!

Recently discovered this and I like it. It has a certain type of "Irishness" to it that I haven't heard for many a year. I hope they stay active and release more music.

You are 100% Correct - Mike Got Spiked supporting Anthrax. Fucking dreadful mismatch. MGS were the equivalent of listening to morning time radio banter, "It's such an honour to support Anthrax" when you know none of them had heard of them until that afternoon when they got the call to do the gig

I wasn't at the Anthrax show but I had the misfortune of playing on the same line up as these bell ends. I remember them being absolute cunts when approached with friendly banter pre gig and then having a few of them come up to after we played and one of them saying "we would have been nice to you if we had known your band was this good!" Up there with the most spasticated statements I've heard from local bands, or any bands for that matter, and that's saying something. And we weren't that good either, the lads just hadn't experienced anything outside of their gigsmart/ Dublin nu metal bubble.

It's a strange one. Some of my friends/ work colleagues are into what I would call "tantrum metal", and they'll send me a link for an absolute dud from Lorna Shore or something and I just don't hear anything of what I would consider heavy. There's no danger, or malice or magic to it. Just the sonic equivalent of Tom and Jerry violence.

This is an example of what I would consider to be proper heavy. But in some circles it's old fashioned and twee.

I would have thought Nervosa were were bigger than Xentrix at this point. *Insert joke about not losing the keys for the bus again.

I guess you could say that up until now, he's had a Silent Scream.

I might be in the minority with this but I'm not a fan of Marc Osegueda's vocals and Kerry King's actually sound better here.

Fear Factory - Mechanize
I think from the non-Dino albums, Archetype is criminally underrated, and Transgression has a good album buried in there if they weren't rushed to release it, but Mechanize is definitely a throwback to earlier stuff. Shame it all imploded again soon after

A lot of filler on the COW albums I would argue, but I dare say Mechanize and the three albums that followed are all great. I think if any of them had been released right after Obsolete, Fear Factory would be a much bigger band now.
