I'd say it's because they're only decent, whereas he could get someone else to do them who's great.

Plus of course, then you have to learn to play and sing everything simultaneously and the quality of both usually goes down.

I might be in the minority with this but I'm not a fan of Marc Osegueda's vocals and Kerry King's actually sound better here.
