I am sure this isn't exclusively a metal thing but so far I have just come across it on metal releases. The first two Ildjarn-Nidhogg eps have been reissued on vinyl. Instead of doing a single comp LP it's two separate LPs that run at 10 and 12 minutes.

Both EPs could have easily fit on one side of an LP but instead now it's two single releases at €30 a pop so ill be passing. It was the same a few years ago with the Konflict - Subjugation releases. Both released at the same time but it's 28 minutes of music spread across two separate single sided LPs.

It's getting close to the point for me where I just stop buying physical releases the price of metal vinyl especially has been too high for a good while now and is constantly going up yet the quality keeps dropping. I wouldn't be surprised if you see some distros jacking up the prices again in the next few days then claiming it's because of what's going on in Iran.

Well, it's a cash grab. I'm sure I'll get some flack for saying this, but the whole vinyl revival thing has been a cash grab from the beginning.

Take the moniker out of the picture and what's left is a joke made by clearly talented and clearly drunk individuals who aren't even trying. This has been the case since whichever album came after "Sardonic Wrath".

ND are a very well respected band but they didn't do themselves any favours with the shite they released after all creatures and Lori also seems to have some serious mental issues. Her recent multi part interview with Bardo didn't paint her in a good light either.

Deicide are back to being great live again and have been since the Legion in full tour a few years ago. Taylor Nordberg the current guitarist is really good.

Just watched "Satan spawn..." performed at Brutal Assault a year or two ago. It sounded... incredibly proggy. Not in a bad way.

After watching couple of Deicide shows from the 90's I'm mighty impressed. I guess up until now I just didn't pay attention to the fact of how much of a live force they used to be.

Hoffman brothers guitar work at it's best is truly unique in pursue of brutality and rough catchiness.

Best Slayer album IMO. Don't like any other of their albums Apart from this,  SNM and RIB.

Whichever gets named as the best out of first four, there is no controversy. This is how good this run was. And don't forget "Haunting the chapel".

Getting to grips with the new one, I like it so far. I'm a bit of a fan boy, though.

I'm getting more and more confused by the definitions of all kinds of "isms" these days. The good thing, though, is that within the currently acceptable political spectrum if you declare hatred of Israeli state, for sure you are either far right, far left or a bloody centrist.

I find "Mdłości" EP to be their best achievement, part two especially. It's much rawer than everything from "WHTN" onwards.

Solo in "Gemini" by Slayer. It's slow by their standards and really intriguing.

There is a new song up on YouTube but it's an old one apparently, didn't make a cut for "EiF".

There is a good case to be made for
Autopsy. Especially considering their influence on Scandinavian DM and BM (see: Darkthrone).

Wouldn't agree with the Darkthrone - some debatable albums in the mix there.

Debatable? Sure. But no duds. Four unquestionable classics and a run between "Panzerfaust" and "Sardonic Wrath" is savage in its own right.

As per the thread name. I'm going with
Darktrone and their run of eleven at least remarkable albums ("Goatlord" included). Could it be topped?

Once again, cheers lads. Any Demilich vibe is coincidencental. I like them but not to a point of them ever influencing me.

Demilich comparison was purely a mental crutch for myself. You sound nothing like them, but when I try to put in words Your style of building guitar parts I end up with something like: two or more tracks seemingly going into the same, general direction, but meandering around each other and even when approaching unison at moments, there is usually a twist.
