Mike Browning dead. Shocked to read that.

Obviously anecdotal, but the amount of times I saw Brent being really stroppy on-stage, unhappy with whatever, I can only imagine how much that was the case over the course of a tour.

Procession - The Cult of Disease

Is is a hot-take to say that they never came close to sounding this good again? Everything after always felt like it lacked any real snap, in favour of a more "epic" sound. Gonna have a deep-dive the next few days.

Just listening to this now - Pat is Rich Walker's cousin, right? He refers to Patrick from Solstice, but no mention of the familial connection, so I'm guessing there was a blaze of glory fallout

Edit: He later clarifies they're not related, that's a commonly-held myth. I've always thought that to be true.

Class, look forward to that massively.

These days, I'm just glad of the day out.

Bar a cursory bag-check, there was no frisking or searches at The Academy last night.

Got a ticket last minute, delighted to have gone. Never been mad about KL on record, but really enjoyed it live and fuck me they've a rabid fanbase. The heat yesterday was chronic, I was in the balcony and was sopping leaving, can only imagine what it was like on the floor.

Only caught the tail end of Worn Out who seemed decent and I thought The Bucket were savage.

So you're talking about a person you've made up?

It would be very hard for a band the scale of Metallica to step back, I think. You're a business, how many people are dependent on them for their income, which all dries up when they stop the machine.

That stretch from King Nothing until they play Orion is barren, fuck me.

Basically all of those songs are set-staples, bar Orion and Leper Messiah, but they've toured MOP in full before too. Had a hit of FOMO yesterday but I'll survive not seeing that.

How/why is Fuel still always played?

They'll have plastic gangways down for a gig like that on a professional pitch.

Out today - first listen through, it sounds absolutely amazing tbh.

Far from excusing the price, but they're Yeti cups and ones that size without a Metallica logo probably are €50-€60 anyways.
