Lol, awkward!!!!!

Had to Google parka jacket just to make sure it was what I thought it was as wasn't sure what was so bad about one.
But fuck it, you don't need to wear a heavy metal uniform to prove you're metal... metal is in the heart...and other pretentious bollocks etc.

lol forgive me, it wasn't from a "wear the fuckin uniform :abbath:" perspective, it was just 100 degrees where we were standing and yer man looked insane to begin with!

embarassing at times, there was a lad infront of us wearing a parka jacket (yes who gives a fuck, but ...ye had to be there)

I was wearing a parka at this. Was also seated. Strike me down. I'd be more embarrassed had I paid for the ticket.

Great show but can't get into the music at all, which is not metal for the parka wearing record, but too much in between song rubbish.

ah nothing wrong with that at all! it was moreso the fact it was a sweatbox where we were in the crowd, sweat beating off me and this guy had it zipped all the way up , just chilling

don't know why i mentioned it, "ye had to be there"

absolutely amazing gig :abbath:

have to agree with others here, that crowd was abysmal.

i just didn't feel the crowd were into it at all!

loved the setlist, couldn't fault it. hope they come back !

Anyone heading to Graspop?

I see flights from Dublin - Brussels are around €60 from 19th-24th June

I haven't been keeping an eye on metal festivals for a long time now and i'm amazed to see King Diamond & Demons & Wizards doing the rounds!

EDIT: Shit, the attached poster is massive...sorry!

The entire FFVII soundtrack.  I adore it, Nobuo Uematsu is savage.  Some real gems in there but overall the whole thing is great.  Nearly breaks my heart trying to listen to some of it nowadays.  anxious heart, aeris' theme, and main theme especially.

Silent Hill OST.  First song is normal enough, then it turns into the actual horror soundtrack.  Really deadly, nervewracking and violent, filled with industrial noise and ominous keyboard.  Couldn't recommend it enough.

Great choices. Not overly familiar with Silent Hill but i have heard a few tunes from the franchise that blow me away.

As far as Nobuo Uematsu is concerned, The man is an absolute genius.

Aerith's theme is a real beautiful piece of music, Written at a time in his life when his mother had passed.
So,  a lot of that hurt was woven into Aerith's theme and other tunes in the FF7 soundtrack.

I prefer FF8 soundtrack personally but that's because it was my first FF game, Equally amazing soundtrack.

Another fantastic video game soundtrack is Shenmue, I have the HD remaster on steam but haven't had the time to sink into it.

EDIT: how do ye lads show the youtube preview in the post?

Gave the new Sabrina show on Netflix a spin and i am glad i did.

It is fuckin immense. One of those shows where the pilot episode is a slow burner and you really have to give it a few episodes to kick in.

How do you feel about irishmetal.net? I see it's available to buy on several different domain name sites for fairly cheap.

Yeah a good logo would be decent man. Even something off a logo creator site would do the job for now as a placeholder.

I knocked up a few examples on flamingtext.com haha.

As for the flyers, thats a good question. Could very well be down to each venue, It is advertising at the end of the day. Could do it certainly outside venues.

Absolutely love this site already, Cheers for putting it together.

MW is a grand aul name for this site, But would you consider getting a domain that would associate it a bit more with local scene/this country?

I know metalireland is copyright, as well as irishmetal.com. But who knows, maybe metaleire.ie or metaleire.net?
I  wouldn't mind chipping in for a domain name and get a good logo going.

Basically just get a bit of branding going and promotion of the site at some stage. I know its a non-profit metal discussion site, but would be cool to hand out flyers/stickers at gigs to promote the site a bit when there is an established brand/name going with a decent logo.

Again, no big deal. I'm chuffed to bits with how things are at the minute.

I need to get familiarsed with a lot more local bands.

I'm still listening to the same bands i got into back in 2007/2008 like Darkest Era, Sorrowfall, Sirocco, For Ruin, Mourning Beloveth, Overoth, Mass Extinction and the likes.

Just haven't  really been on the lookout for any newer/more recent bands to be honest.

I went to see them in Rotterdam this time last year and they were absolutely brilliant.  They did a meet and greet thing afterwards at the merchandise stall too just said to the audience we'll be over there after the show...really really cool guys.

Try these 2 but the new one is class too but hey I don't think they have a poor release

Svartir Sandar
Ótta

Cheers! Will give em a go
