I only ever get searched in the Academy when I go straight from work and have a backpack with me, and then it's just a look in the bag and not a patdown or anything

A non Irish male convicted of multiple rapes and child abuse, I assume the usual crowd will be out rioting?

Got in for the end of Knocked Loose, awful stuff

Gojira we're decent, sound was pretty shit but seemed to improve a bit as they went on

Wasn't at the Friday show, but reckon yesterday was a better setlist, Ktulu, Lightning and Blackened probably the highlights

What time did Pantera go on at? Want to get in for Gojira tomorrow, but heard there was a few different stage times doing the rounds, assuming it'll be the same for both nights

Quote from: Trev on June 20, 2026, 01:16:03 PMOn the blood drive thing, I go in to donate every couple of months anyway and didn't realise this was happening when I went earlier in the week. They just had a few boxes of shirts and said I can grab one or two if I wanted. They're pretty decent, nice little surprise to get

I donate blood so if I bring my card to the pop up shop I can get one of these?

No idea if they have them in the shop or just the clinic. I reckon if you just head into Dolier St though they'd probably let you grab one. When I asked the guy on the desk if I could take an extra for my missus he told me to work away, didn't seem overly fussed

I don't know whether you'd count Kirk and Rob's 'doodle' (fucking hell) as a song but it's certainly a dud.

One song from Ride the Lightning? That's grim, hopefully they're keeping them for Sunday

Ah I'm sure you'll be able to get your official Metallica branded ponchos for only a few hundred euro

Relapse are reissuing the three Martyr albums next month, nice to finally pick them up for a normal price, they're mad money online at the moment

Read an interview a few years ago with Bolan, basically said he invested his Skid Row money really well and never needs to work again, so the band is just something he does for fun. And if that's the case I can completely understand them not wanting to fuck that up being stuck on a bus with someone he absolutely hates

Quote from: Trev on June 17, 2026, 07:29:18 PMI think I listened to 72 Seasons once, Hardwired maybe a handful of times. If they break out a couple from these it could be a good chance for beer and piss breaks

72 seasons is a solid album but there's far better stuff to be playing.

I think that was my take from it, was grand, nothing overly terrible, a 6/10 album but I could stick on something better. Production was shite too, amazing to think that with all their resources they haven't made a good sounding album since '99

Quote from: Don Gately on June 17, 2026, 05:30:37 PMThat lad got an awful doing here and on metal ireland, wasnt too many lauding him then
Ah the lad talked an awful load of shite back on the old forum, and refused to take any advice or criticism on board

But to be fair he did always seem to want to do his best for the local scene, and seemed to have got a nice little niche with Burning Metal. No age to go, condolences out to those that knew him

Maybe not the right thread, but Manowar just announced a "world tour", 29 dates, 21 of them in Germany!

Apparently the two bands have been swapping the headline slot, it'll be Voivod closing in Limerick and Belfast
