Was off work so a bit of Bad Religion and Nofx today while getting some gardening done in the sun

Allegaeon - The Ossuary Lens
Really liking this new one, dials back the proggy tendencies of the last one for a bit of a throwback to the earlier stuff. Plus Greg Burgess has to be one of the most unsung guitarists in metal

Still think most of the stuff from the last ten years or so is great, but the first half of his career is on another levelQuote from: Maggot Colony on April 30, 2025, 09:04:14 AMNP Devin Townsend - Ocean Machine: Biomech
Exploring Devin Townsend after being knocked out by SYL's City recently. Brilliant album. Don't know how this passed me by. I would have been 17 when this was released and would have loved it. I was probably listening to Coal Chamber.
OM and City are class and great counterparts to each other. If you like those go straight for Terria next, then check out anything else from that era in any order, up to around 2007. Terria is untouchable.
Definitely I'd be going with Terria next, or Accelerated Evolution

Anthrax - Worship Music
As far as comeback albums go it's very solid. Looking it up I never realised how many credits Dan Nelson has on it, then they tried to erase them from their history

Down were very much a time and place band for me. II was the first one I heard and played the shit out of it, then my ex from back then always had on Over the Under, by the time I got around to picking up the debut I was a bit burnt out on that style so it never connected as much
Never listened to the EPs, but the live album has to be one of the worst of all time, Phil is completely fucked on it

Yeah my wife is a nurse and she'd day practically every Irish person that qualifies is gone within two years. Can't blame them, wages are shit, increments are shit compared to other public service jobs, and it's so understaffed the hospitals are falling apart
Successive government's have been happy to watch the HSE fall apart over the years, and the INMO as a union is absolutely toothless and won't stand up for them

Actually the Metal Show on Phantom FM would have exposed me a shitload of stuff I'd never heard before, used to record loads off it each week for making mixtapes

My mam was big into Queen and would always have them playing, my older brother had a tape of Pearl Jam's Ten that I used to always stick on. Cut out halfway through Porch so never even realised it wasn't the full album until I bought a copy years later
I suppose the first discovery on my own as it were, was hearing Offspring back when Smash came out. From there it was on to stuff like Nofx, Bad Religion, then nu metal. But picking up a copy of Master of Puppets on a whim and hearing Battery kick in sealed it for me

First spin through, it's fucking great
Wonder what the odds of a tour are, must be at least 10 years since that show in the Voodoo?
