Quote from: Black Shepherd Carnage on May 17, 2026, 01:20:09 AMJudge Dredd (1995) 2 stars, Dredd (2012) 4 stars.

The latter with the kind of set design budget the former had, and you've got a good shot at 5 stars. Urban's Dredd is class, cool af. Just watched it again now.

Speaking of 2000AD movies,  is Rogue Trooper done? Has been in production for a while now. Love the Trooper comics.

The only full track released thus far is ok, but the riff around 2 mins in is :abbath:

Quote from: Trev on May 07, 2026, 02:54:05 PMWatched a Pantera clip on youtube a while ago, so the algorithm started bombarding me with more and I figured I'd go back and run through the discography including the early stuff

Looking at all the interviews though, can't help but think that if Dime wasn't shot he probably would have been dead in a few years from the booze

I also choose to remember 'Diamond ' Darrell as I had been introduced.

What about trying their 80s stuff.
?  Yeah, it's not Pantera as they later became known as but if you pretend the 90s didn't happen for them it's perfectly serviceable 'heavy hair' metal. 'I AM THE NIGHT' is a good one.

Quote from: open face surgery on April 29, 2026, 12:41:06 PMSaw him in the RDS a good few years ago. Unreal. Mates went to him and Cut Chemist in the Ambassador years ago. Sounded unreal.

Saw DJ Shadow in the Ambassador once upon a time too but don't remember Cut Chemist being there ,possibly a different show .

Speaking of  hip hop DJ shows in Dublin,  who saw DJ Q Bert in the Village (whelans) once upon a time? Twas great

The Rambo movies.. as time goes on I seem to prefer 'First Blood' as opposed to the later, more grandiose sequels.  That being said Rambo 3 is a good time, it seems to age well or badly politically each month.

Gave the og LOTR trilogy a watch again recently.  They really were special from the acting to the OST to the effects and hold up very well to this day. Don't see the point in this new Gollum movie. Leave it alone,  dont care who is 'coming back' to star in it.

Cronos is Kate Middleton's uncle,  but was not invited to the royal wedding.

Or, is this false info?.

Rick can't get past 90s rock/grunge etc, and I get it , but even I as an equally cynical c... recognise that there is good music still out there.

Quote from: Carnage on April 13, 2026, 04:17:55 PMI was there as well, enjoyed all 3 bands though The Almighty didn't leave much of a lasting impression. I bought their live album after the gig but it wasn't great. Megadeth were at their peak, touring their best album and were still ostensibly a band and not an ego project. Lethal live.

AIC have been a favourite since. Really good live, that was my first time to hear anything bar the singles (they were touring Facelift at the time). Met Layne and (I think, my memory's a bit hazy 35 years on) Starr in the lobby after. Really nice lads, very humble and seemed baffled that anyone over here had even heard of them, let alone that they had a following. I have Layne's autograph still, though the jacket and runner he signed are long gone.

Not to derail the thread here but it's mad that they (A.I.C.) didn't seem to know how their international marketing was going back then. They had massive exposure on MTV back then with 'Man in the box' video, Clash of the TItans tour etc

Saw on IG the other day a flyer for a show in the point 1993, Megadeth/Alice In Chains/ The Almighty.

Was anyone at this? (I wasn't) Any memories of it?
