On sale this Friday
Christ are they that big? Or is this a knock on from Slane?
Im away!!,Tribulation suppirting too!!
Going!! :abbath:
Thought Tribulation were meant to be a Siege exclusive? Not heard of All Them Witches tbh yet they are higher on the poster :-X
ATW are kind of dark bluesy rock stuff. Not awful or anything but not really for me. They remind me of a doomier Masters of Reality or something in places.
Should be cool, great to see them coming here with their own show. Pity its a school night but hey...
Anyone get a presale yet? Was on to Three they're fuckin useless
Presale up on 3Plus app now
I think pre-sales dont start til wednesday. Theres no hope of this selling out tho is there?!
Yeah looks like you can get the code now but can't use it til Wednesday 10am. No hope of it selling out in my opinion, I'd imagine it'll be scaled back with some areas partitioned off.
Awesome - feel fully justified in not bothering with Metallica now!
Absolute joke of an announcement. They played the Button Factory a few times and failed to sell it out if my memory serves me correctly. I know they won the Eurovision a few years back and just played Slane but surely bumping them up to the 3 Arena is a bit extreme?
Have always enjoyed All Them Witches myself. Although I'm not into Ghost at all, for those who are, you couldn't ask for two more complementary support bands, really stretching out to the borders of Ghost's influence pot to make a really engaging overall line-up.

Your memory or brain in general never serves you I'd say! :P

Never change!
Thank fuck Tribulation are playing the siege so I don't have to go to this.

I suppose when you look at it like that the 3 Arena would be handier for the people who don't want to travel to Longford. Maybe this will sell out after all.
Hahahaha.... ffs.......
The thought of Tribulation playing the 3 arena is actually blowing my mind.
Three presale is happening now. Does anyone know how much standing tickets are?
€55 dude.
Would this be expected to sell out? Wondering if I need to get tickets on the day.
€57.50 with €7.20 service charge.

Is the €7.20 included in the €57.50 or is that €64.70 all in?
€64.70
Pre-sales for this went fairly quick, kinda catching me on the hop now as I was tasked with getting tickets for someone else too, may have to fork out tomorrow which I hadn't intended :-X
Think it's going to do better than expected
I was geared up to buy a ticket for this earlier but then I spotted that Sleep are playing in Chicago when I'm there on my holiday in a few months. Tickets for that are on sale at some point today too so I'll have to leave Ghost where it is for the time being.
Is it just me or is €64 (inc. fees) a little bit on the heavy side for Ghost? No doubt it's a great show and all that but surely their guarantee can't be that big (maybe it is, I dunno). I thought at 50 quid all in you'd get a lot more casuals and such.
Sidebar: Who are Ghost's core audience anyway? Is it oul fellas in their mid-30s to 50s like us on here or is it the yoof of today?
Having seeing them before it seems to be similar to what Kiss do, young, old, lots of families at the last one.
They definitely have a sizable portion of the metal community on side too so they've covered all bases really.
Tickets got. Smashin'
Looking forward to this but can't see it selling out.Was impressed at Slane and that was some joke of a stage set up and a bunch of farmers in the audience.
There really seems to be a space for a venue number wise between olympia/vicar street and 3arena.
Anyone have any idea of the stage times for this?? Anyone driving back to Belfast that night either? ::)

Doors: 6pm
Tribulation: 6.30pm
All Them Witches: 7.40pm
Ghost: 9pm
Yeah those support acts are the wrong way around there.
(They're not, I know, but they are.)
Yeah it would have been a lot handier for pre gig pints if they were the other way around.
This was fantastic. 2 hour set from Ghost. Great fun!
They were really, really good. One small lull before Cirice and maybe a bit too much lark between songs, but that's all part of the show. Well worth the trip.
It was better than I thought it'd be.
Love Ghost but had never seen them before - and there's not a whole lot of proshot YouTube stuff out there - so things like the individual Ghouls all having a bit of character and spotlight were a nice surprise. The in between patter didn't bother me too much just because there's so few acts that actually go and do it. They're still on their way and time will tell, but the fact that such a heavily merchandisable, fun rock and roll band are getting such a big youth following makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. I know that buzz isn't for everyone, but every generation needs it as a gentle entry point, I think. And Forge is right to ride the arsehole off it.
Enjoyed Tribulation far more than Siege. Bigger gafs suit them, better sound, and I was sober.
All Them Witches aren't my bag, but whatever.
Great night.
How did Trib go down with the Stadium Rock crowd?
I'd say enthusiasm for both supports was muted at best. Although there was a great mix of age groups the kids were bored to tears with both bands and it was hard to blame them. Both seemed lost on the big stage, and to be honest my patience waned with them especially ATW, I just wasn't in the mood and found myself thinking had they been in a small venue like Whelans it would've had an impact but supporting a fun act like Ghost in the 3 Arena to an indifferent audience meant they were on to a loser.
To be fair to Tobias he tends to pick acts he likes, last time I caught them they had Zombi with them who I was excited to see but ended up being the same as above. Admirable to take acts like these out but they end up being out of place and a bit of a buzz kill.
Ghost were excellent, fully deserve to be where they are and great to see a band that will genuinely be able to headline a fest emerge, i.e. a metal band irrespective of style that can do that which has formed in the past ten years or so is a complete rarity.
They are losing a bit of their charm and mystique and it heads further into pantomime territory but when the music is there to back it up and the show is that entertaining you can get past that.
Thought Tribulation went down great with everyone, to be honest. I was down front though so the front's all you're hearing, I suppose. There wasn't a lot of headbanging but the cheer was loud enough at the end of each tune and towards the end, which is par the course for "no idea who the fuck you are, but I'm digging it."
In terms of headlining festivals, the trigger needs to just be pulled on Ghost to give them that extra boost. After seeing that performance last night, it's hilarious to think the Download crowd are split on whether they're ready or not, whilst squabbling over who should get the push between the likes of Alter Bridge and Volbeat.
I thought they were fantastic, especially after the first 20 mins or so. I get all the backing musicians are essentially hired guns now but they were all very into it and all get to show a bit of personality. The saxophone solo was even more epic than at slane.
Did anyone else find the crowd a bit dead though? Ghost were giving it socks and other than Square Hammer I couldn't hear or see many people around me singing along or even nodding their head with the music.
Really enjoyed hearing the couple of tracks from the first album too, you can really tell how raw they were compared to how layered the recent albums but that album is still ridiculously catchy, would have liked to hear Elizabeth too!
Unfortunately couldn't get in in time for Tribulation, still have yet to see them headline.
Caught the last 15 mins or so of All Them Witches and thought they were shite to be honest, and I love blues rock. Great players but no songs from what I heard.
Great gig.
Thought a lot of the fans didn't know Satan Prayer though and it made the singalong section a bit cringe.
Excellent gig but Ghost could definitely fine tune the set a bit-The guitar duel was fairly pointless and 2 instrumentals either side of Cirice is a bit of a killer. Zombie Queen really didn't fit with the new material in my opinion but I was surprised how heavy some of the material was. Definitely will see them live again and can't wait to see what direction the next album will go in.
absolutely amazing gig :abbath:
have to agree with others here, that crowd was abysmal.
embarassing at times, there was a lad infront of us wearing a parka jacket (yes who gives a fuck, but ...ye had to be there)
i just didn't feel the crowd were into it at all!
loved the setlist, couldn't fault it. hope they come back !
Did a large chunk of the crowd just turn up because Ghost supported Metallica? and just werent very familiar with lots of the material?.Was it a case of 'yeah ive heard of Ghost, they supported Metallica, lets check them out'?
Probably but tbh that's what I would have expected. I don't think ghost have enough fans here that know all their stuff for a venue of that size so it was going to be fairly full of people coming to check them out.
Would love to see them in a smaller venue, even the Marquee in Cork(like)

I thought that too, loads near me singing the material that was only released a few weeks ago even, a biggy or so I thought from the first album and nothing! (I tried all the same :P)
Brilliant gig, would like to see Tribulation at their own show only seen as support before and missed the Siege, ATW did zero but found no harm watching until the drum solo which was tedious and decided I'd seen enough.
Ghost were top notch was entertained for the 2 hours, his character is a goofball so not fussed about him having him play it out.Set up in the place was grand and enough to certainly deem it a success it had crossed my mind beforehand it could be their first and last headline show here

I was wearing a parka at this. Was also seated. Strike me down. I'd be more embarrassed had I paid for the ticket.
Great show but can't get into the music at all, which is not metal for the parka wearing record, but too much in between song rubbish.
Lol, awkward!!!!!
Had to Google parka jacket just to make sure it was what I thought it was as wasn't sure what was so bad about one.
But fuck it, you don't need to wear a heavy metal uniform to prove you're metal... metal is in the heart...and other pretentious bollocks etc.

ah nothing wrong with that at all! it was moreso the fact it was a sweatbox where we were in the crowd, sweat beating off me and this guy had it zipped all the way up , just chilling
don't know why i mentioned it, "ye had to be there"

lol forgive me, it wasn't from a "wear the fuckin uniform :abbath:" perspective, it was just 100 degrees where we were standing and yer man looked insane to begin with!
