Watched it this morning. Mustaine talking Megadeth history for an hour, watchable. The most impressive thing about it is how he manages to go through the entire history of the band without once, not a single time, mentioning current persona non grata. Mental and typically pathetic behavior from him. Had a wank? Well, now you no longer exist.

Ya i picked up on that too. I guess if you watched their Behind the Music episode that came out years ago it had more details, but for what it was the Icons thing was grand...nothing that new really.

That said, im looking forward to hearing their new album - Dystopia really had some strong stuff on there (which was a surprise for me given their weak output since System has Failed I thought)... hearing Dirk record with them should be cool, such a cracking drummer....

The Gibson Icons series has been good so far. Dave Mustaine's one was uploaded yesterday.

I'm by no means a big fan of Megadeth but I don't think that I have ever seen Mustaine play a Gibson in any photo. So I looked it up.

As of 2021 Dave Mustaine uses Gibson Guitars.

Hmmmmmmm. Gibson Icon, my hole.

That said - Gibson make a Kiefer Sutherland signature model.

Kiefer fuckin' Sutherland.

I've watched the Mustain, Kirk Hammett and Jerry Cantrell episodes so far. Kirk is a bit of a funny fish but seems decent. Jerry just seems like a completely normal and sound dude. I don't know how Mustaine does it, but he just oozes unlikeableness. He seems so bitter. Such a gimp.

He has an air of smugness about him, not helped by his resting sneer face.

I think he's actually gotten worse over the years which is no small achievement when you consider how much of a prick he was in his heyday.

Yeah Mustaine is easily the most insufferable person out of any of the big 4 bands, people give Lars shit but he's at least capable of having a normal conversation. I don't think I've ever watched an interview with Mustaine where you could say he came across as 'sound'.

I like Lars. He's mad as fuck but seems genuine and a bit of craic.

I watched David Crosby: Remember My Name last night. Pretty good, considering I wouldn't have much interest in his music, fairly warts and all. He still has some voice for a lad who's now 80.

Has anyone watched the new Beatles series, Get Back? Managed an hour of it last night, it was fairly dull. Just wondering if it picks up as it gets closer to the band falling apart?

I've seen about half of it.
What's great to see is when John and Paul click mid song you can feel all the bullshit fall away and the chemistry is palpable.

Have watched them too, but can't help wonder why James Hetfield doesn't feature. Surely he was approached as he mainly plays Gibson......

Just finished The Beatles - Get Back. Thought it was amazing. To get such an insight into the band in their last few months is extraordinary. Was confused that they were jamming a good few tunes from Abbey Street but after checking the timeline it turns out they went in to record that a month or two later and John left at the end of that sessions. One of, if not the, most influential band of all time. Loved every second of it.

Just watched the documentary about The Velvet Underground from last year. Quality. Don't miss if you're into the band or into the origins of drone or into that whole Warhol New York scene.

Watched episode 2 of Get Back earlier, vastly superior to the first. Lennon was some twat though.

Really enjoyed that as well.
