Wouldn't we all look silly if this goes ahead and maiden end up headlining with both Paul dianno and blaze bayel come on stage during the epyomonus song and all 3 sing it.  :-[

Where did that come from.  CT fairly slated Across Deaths so we fell out of favour in the end!

He was some man for the build 'em up, knock 'em down routine alright.

Sure look it! It's a beast of an album even if nobody else likes it other than me  8)

Anyone who says it'll be Ireland's first heavy metal festival clearly hasn't done his homework and that's the first clue that this will tank if it even gets past the drunken idea stage that it clearly is

You could be onto something with the build em up and knock em down. The Earl could be a bitter bastard sometimes. Partial to the odd brown envelope too as evidenced with the 5/5 Steel Tormentor review, the guitars and vocals were out of tune for fucks sake, drums out of time!

Might be the other way round actually. When Andy and I were writing for MI he loved our bands. When we bowed out he got a bit more critical (though in fairness in my case he was bang on about the production at least - it did sound like mud). So I'd say he might have just been blowing smoke up our arses at the start if anything.

Call me naive but I've never bought into the anti-CT conspiracy theory.  I think he liked the Malthusian demo and EP and didn't like the album.  I get why too.  His tastes tend toward a sound that is maybe more refined than the filth explosion of Across Deaths.  He, no more than anyone else, was obliged to give anything I was involved in a favourable review. My two cents.

I can't say I've lost any sleep over it to be honest either way, I didn't like everything we did so no reason anyone else should... anyway..

So is this Indiginous Metal Superextravaganza the work of our friend Phil as well has it been established?Or is it a new pretender to his throne?

Final word on Steel Tormentor, they got the 5 because they paid him to do their site. I lost sleep over that until I solved that mystery.

Generally thought he was fair but their was the occasional glaring exception.

Nope, some other lad.  Iron Mountain is Phil this time.  He still crops up in the comments on that fb thread to give the new lad advice, also saying that anyone slagging non existent festivals are not true metal fans or something to that effect - You're only a fairweather fan if you live in a city and go to gigs because sure they're right there.  Most of the comments in there are just (rightly) pointing out there's already at least seven festivals a year in the country but it's falling deaf to them.

I got on reasonably well with him. Still wonder how he managed to give Zom such a lousy review.

So it's the 2nd May in the National Stadium, still no bands or prices announced

Clang. Jesus. Can't help but hear Bishop Brennan... "You'll call me by my proper title, ya little bollocks".

O ye of little faith.

There's plenty of uh...Clangers...out there.

Clanger Fest!

Looks like it's on the same weekend as Phil's Iron Mountain Fest, and all.
