My mate has got from this seller before and got 3 good flushes, so hoping it works out.

3 good flushes sounds like your mate knows what's up in this game  8)

I did a couple of quick searches about mixing spores, out of curiosity. It appears that either:

A - one strain will take over as the dominant strain, so your box will only produce 1 type

Or

B - they will co-exist and your box will produce the 2 strains

However, that's under the assumption that both strains belong to the same species. Those Thai spores you have would be psilocybe cubensis, so if the other mystery strain is of a cubensis species (it most likely is, unless wherever you bought them also offer different species, in which case who the fuck knows?) then you should get outcome either A or B above.

Personally, I wouldn't mix it this time. Along with the fact that we don't really know what that mystery strain is, the fact that it was free could mean that it's old stock too. There's also a possible increase in the risk of contamination, since you'd be inocculating from an additional source.
Maybe just try and keep your first grow simple and straightforward and then take it from there. You could make your own substrate for the mystery strain and keep the grows separate in different boxes.

Make sure you clean the fuck out of everything and good luck!

P.S I'm not an expert!
That's interesting, didn't think they would coexist at all. Sounds like it's not worth mixing them just on the off chance they might happen to work together. I'll stick to the original Thai strain and worst case scenario, when it probably fails, I'll have a back syringe up syringe ready to go.

It definitely will be another cubensis. not that it matters what it is, as they'll be eaten  regardless if they grow. I appreciate the advice thanks.

My mate is one of those annoying people with a knack for pulling off most things he tries first time.

No worries man. Since the weather is getting colder, I would advise taking whatever measures need to be done to keep the temperature as close as possible to what it needs to be.

The first time I inocculated a box, the temp was about 7 degrees below what it should have been, and the box took about an extra 2-3 weeks to colonise.

Feel free to keep us updated on here anyway  :abbath:

Picked 600 on Saturday and 200 yesterday. Both days out with friends, so let them keep the spoils.
What an amazing season....

Anybody familiar with amanita muscaria (fly agaric)? There are some growing around me, gonna bring one home today. There's some part of it you can dry out and smoke for a short opiate like effect.

It's meant to be a fairly intense trip if you eat them, properly prepared of course.

There's loads growing in the forest I trek daily close to home. Makes for beautiful photos, but that's as far as I will leave it. Listening to people's experiences on them, I've never felt the urge to indulge myself and I'll stick with the Libs and the ones my mate grows. The more I've schooled myself on the AMs, the less I've been drawn to them.

Good video on them here, and it's worth reading the comments on the video...

Obviously not the same, but I guess it'll be of interest to the same people: Germany has just approved law to legalize and regularize cannabis for recreational use.

Obviously the right move. I wonder how long before the rest of Europe follows suit.

Wouldn't be surprised to see more and more doing it in the next few years, not a hope of Ireland copping on for a long, long time though

I was living in Canada while it was legalized and it was a complete and utter shit show. Not surprising when the class clown Trudeau was in charge. In the first year of legalization the majority of complaints that the ombudsman received was about legal weed. The majority of people still to this day buy from "illegal" sources.

In saying that once you knew where to get good weed it was great being able to smoke and carry it freely. As for Ireland I reckon all of us on here will be very old men by the time it is legalized. Ireland in general seems to view weed very differently to most other countries.

France's current government have doubled down at least twice during the present mandate to say a firm, unflinching NO to any kind of decriminalization of it, despite it being obvious that their policies ain't working: highest prevalence of cannabis smokers in Europe.

It's de facto legal in Spain for personal use, you smell it everywhere on the street in Madrid. I don't partake myself but let them off for fuck sake.

Did a nice pot of mush with the missus on Saturday afternoon and headed to to the forest for a few hours and then back home to spend the rest of afternoon in the back garden by the river listening to the birds and Heilung...
What a truly beautiful and amazing country we live in...
