I'm reclaiming this thread. Enough talk about fucking Anathema, let's get back on topic. Arcane Sun!

Looking back at the 90s local metal scene and I'm wondering if half the reason I took so long about getting into the good stuff as I see it was that in the 90s most Irish bands you would hear demos from on the metal show sounded like 3rd World Metallica

Easy in that respect for the very small handful of good bands to bypass you. I tended to go to more local punk gigs in the latter half of the 90s because the standard in the punk scene seemed to be higher. Easier to nail street punk in fairness, but when it's done well it's hard to beat. Badly played thrash is a fucking hard slog for me...

Oh, and back to being back on topic, I am still holding out for the Fade CD and LP to materialise. Come on,  Sentinel!

I was up with mark Higgins before Christmas he was only out of hospital lucky man to still be on this planet he's a fighter is that lad,he mentioned the album that never got released

I'll not go into specifics but he was on life support and the family were called to say there goodbyes but he found the strength from fuck knows where and slowly got himself to a place where they let him home

He was in great form and full of craic, his sense of humour is wickedly funny and it was amazing to see him nearly back to the lad I grew up with
